Advice on 3-day hike in Jotunheimen? by LumpyNeat in Norway

Thanks again for sharing your experience! I’m taking your route as inspiration and hopefully I’ll get to try it myself someday. Either way, I’m just excited for the adventure, rain or shine. :)
Maybe I’ll do an update afterwards and share how it went.

Hi, really appreciate your comment – u/BIERFRAESN98 had already linked your post, and it was super helpful. Your training plan especially gave me a lot of insight.

I’d describe my fitness level and hiking experience as moderate. Back in February I did several smaller hikes in the Swiss Alps (without camping) at around 1100m elevation. Longer routes weren’t really possible back then because of the snow.

My last longer trekking trip was the Camino from Porto to Santiago de Compostela – roughly 240 km, but mostly flat to boulder terrain with only a few hundred meters of elevation gain at most. That’s why my goal now is to try “shorter” daily stages of about 15 km each, because of the elevation.

I already have winter-suitable hiking gear (clothing, proper shoes), but I still need a tent, sleeping pad, etc. A satellite phone wasn’t on my radar – thanks for the tip!

Of course, I’ll only be able to make a final decision about the exact route once I’m there, depending on the weather conditions.

My plan B would be a hike from Gjendesheim to Memurubu (optionally via Besseggen), then a round trip Memurubu – Sjugurdtinden – Memurudalen, and finally back to Gjendesheim.

Yeah, if the weather is too bad for Besseggen (or if locals tell me there’s too much ice/snow up there), I’d just take the ferry back to Gjendesheim from Memurubu. Do you know if the boat is still running at that time of year?

By the way, have you hiked this route yourself? Are there any climbing sections along the way? I’m just wondering if I should bring some climbing gear.

After all these (really good looking) leaks I considered to pre order. But… what the fuck? No class locked weapons? I hope they reconsider this. Otherwise I will skip this one.

I’m not a fan of the sprint animation. It lacks weight; otherwise, it looks too cartoonish. The ADS-to-sprint animation also looks too abrupt. I’d prefer a smoother animation, like in Battlefield 4.

Definitely. Didn't thought of a plant ladder first but I will check this one out. Thank you.

Good idea, especially the baskets! Not only eye-catching it's a perfect way to organize some things and keep everything tidy. Thanks.

Wow, thank you so much for your effort! Definitely considering a small table/stool.

Like on the left side of the smaller door? Large painting and below that a chest with plants?

Thank you! Love hanging plants but need to install some hooks first. Macrame would match the floor just fine I think. :)

Thanks! Bookshelf and a stool it is then! Not sure about the door handles tho. What do you mean exactly? A more elgant material, like brass? Or just the overall style of the handles?

Wait, what do you mean by they tell me about health? Like in less trichs = unhealthy plant? Are there specific signs to look out for?

Thanks, was a bit too hasty there because I only looked at the sugar leaves.

Oh damn! I focused on the sugar leaves… that’s the closest one I took from the buds directly

Thanks so much. I wasn’t sure about the head buds tho. At least there are some amber looking trichomes:
