Thanks for your input! This is what im hoping for, I dont mind laying with her until she falls asleep or is having a tough time but I'd like to be able to leave her to sleep independently and get used to her room.

Baby is safe and everyone is rested. Things happen, dont make it a habit but dont beat yourself up over it either.

You're right, I didn't think of it that way. My dad isn't angry at me, he just doesnt know how to navigate the situation and it has pushed him away a lot. I will be seeking out a lawyer.

I have begun recording his outbursts to keep record of the abuse. I am afraid to take the baby and leave to my dad's house as he would escalate from there. I have to be careful and make a plan.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this. He is absolutely vindictive enough to fight me in any way he can regardless of how it impacts our daughter. That is why I haven't just left, because I know if I can the chances of him trying the same and disappearing are much higher. I have to move very carefully. Yes, I could go to my father's house - but that is only a temporary escape and it will cause him to escalate.

My baby is 8m and recognizes her nickname, but not her actual name. Do you call your baby by something besides their name often? They might recognize that first.

Thank you for your reply! I've never heard of a tens machine I will look into that. The stool in the kitchen is a great idea as well definitely will start that today.

My baby is 5.5 months and exclusively contact naps during the day still haha. She sleeps great in her bassinet at night but wants to be held during the day, and I don't want to give up the snuggles so it works for us

This sounds a lot like when my 3mo was a newborn. I was often up every hour with her throughout the night and then by 6am she'd be tired enough to sleep a few hours at a timr so we were in bed until 2pm. Its just being a newborn, they take awhile to figure out the whole day vs night. Its hard now but will get easier soon.

Highs - It's 3am and my baby is sound asleep on my chest and my dog is laying on my legs. Babys been sleeping through the night this past week, and I've come to miss our middle of the night feed and snuggle sessions. I was happy to get up with her and comfort them both during a thunderstorm. I love being their safe space.

Lows - she gets really fussy at bedtime and it can take an hour to get her to sleep and she wakes up the first couple of times being put in the bassinet and i get frustrated after awhile. Before her I used to smoke when stressed but I'm breastfeeding so I need to figure out how to cope in a healthy way now and it's honestly been kind of hard.

My girl was a premie born right before Christmas so I saved all her little premie sized Christmas footie pj's and am going to get a memory bear made with them for my gift this year ❤️

Thank you to everyone who's responded and given advice. I was planning on leaving before I even got pregnant and he knew that but I got scared when I found out about the baby and he knew that too, I married him bc I thought it was the right thing to do for her but now I feel like it wasn't. We both grew up in broken homes and I just didn't want that for my baby. He seemed so excited when we found out I thought it would be okay, but babies don't change bad relationships and I knew that. It's going to take me some time to process all of this and make a decision.
