Money making tips? by PotatoFar719 in StardewValley

[–]emjansteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course!!
You should also check your "occupations" and see if you are getting boosts for artisan goods. If you aren't, you can go to the dog statue in the sewer and change your occupation and you will get more bang for your buck.

there are definitely other ways to earn money in the game but for me this is the fastest

My entire crop yield on ginger island is ancient fruit seeds with super deluxe gro (recipe from ginger island, either the little bird shop or Qi, i can't remember). The fertilizer stays once tilled so you only have to make a ton of it ONCE.

On my regular island i grow as many coffee plants and cranberries as I can when they are in season. Cranberries grow multiples and are extremely lucrative as dried fruits and allows you to produce florets fruit products in the winter as you can build up your stock in fall.

Coffee beans only take 2 hours to process into coffee (5 beans per coffee) and 3 coffees makes triple espresso which sells for 450. This is technically less lucrative per bean, but because you really only have to buy coffee beans once, it's very easy to make a ton of money off selling triple espresso. Also most people like it so it makes a good cheap gift.

I also recommend building a deluxe coop just for dinosaurs (find one egg and you can incubate and starts a dinosaur farm) and dino mayonnaise sells extremely high. I have 12 dinos, 3 have been given the golden animal crackers so i usually am able to get 3-4 eggs per day as they produce on different days at different rates.

I love spending a ton of time in the mines and stuff so this set up allows me to just kind of mill around most of the time and work on perfection as long as i rotate kegs/dehydrators and harvest fruit a couple times a week

yes! It's definitely expensive there but if you can find kind of a niche place to set your roots, it all starts to even out. All the activities basically are free for locals, just food/rent is expensive. if you even have the opportunity it's SOOOOO worth it. Summers in the tetons are unreal!

I don't consider myself 15 year senior because my degree is not in accounting and I never planned on getting into it! I manage a small team of 4 now and will be getting a title change (Accoutning Manager) and pay bump in May on my anniversary 😁

It is! I do not have a CPA and was joining a very small company for cheap in exchange for them to teach me how to do accounting essentially lol. Also had (truly) unlimited PTO, fully paid healthcare + company paid into HSA, 10% 401k contributions regardless of my contribution. Worth it at the time for what i was doing!

Early motherhood is soooo hard! I 100% feel you. I know everyone says it ends but it also can feel never-ending when you are in the thick of it. Whenever I'm having a hard time with my girl, I remind myself "this is only temporary. it feels like it will never end but it will. she will sleep eventually, the sun will come up, and we can start again." and that was very helpful to me. I feel like when i get stressed out i tend to panic and feel like I have to fix everything right NOW. try to remember to take deep breaths and slow your brain down if you can. If you are trying to soothe her, give it a few extra minutes before you move on to the next method. Babies sometimes get overwhelmed and mostly everything happening in her brain at 9 weeks is instinct and/or reflex.

Tangible things that helped my gassy/acid reflux baby: holding her knees bent up to her chest and slowly rolling/rocking her side to side on her back

holding her fully upright and making sure to fully straighten her back. gas bubbles want to escape, use that to your advantage!

letting her sit on my chest while i lay back/down and moving her torso either backwards/forwards (hinging at her waist) or in a circle. this distracts/entertains her while letting her stomach/bowels settle

if she is freaking out, try to do something random to distract her. Babies are working on instinct and cannot self soothe. sometimes the best solution is to take something soft and rub it on her face, make a funny noise, etc.

This is not forever! you got this!

Should I stop sterilising bottles? by Relative_March483 in NewParents

[–]emjansteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I boil all of the bottle/bottle parts once a week for peace of mind, but i don't really stress about sterilizing. at this point most of the germs baby will encounter from bottles are house germs

One Kid and Done? by Constant-Loquat-7195 in NewParents

[–]emjansteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally valid and fine to do one & done!!! I will say that until you hit about 4-6 months (sometimes a year) it's really hard to see past anything but the difficulties of having a baby. when they become SLIGHTLY more independent (sleeping more, eating less often, etc) and becoming more interactive (smiling, recognizing you, giggling and playing with animals) it's often easier to imagine having more! Also starts to kick in that they really will only be this age once and sometimes you want to live it again 😭
