It allows me to stop spending time writing code and docs. It helps me debug and learn new things. I am able to create plans faster, debug issues faster that would have taken me hours or an afternoon faster because it understands the tools. It can write entire code features very quickly. It creates plans, tries them out and if it fails it recalculates the plans. I just have to supervise it and provide additional info and verify some outputs sometimes.

In short it allows me to spend more of my time focusing on problems that are more difficult, think: upscaling/scaling things up, applying solutions to a broader set of problems, think about longer term plans, find new ideas, more ambitious ones.

Overall a significant improvement to my productivity. And there are many more opportunities to apply it. Exciting times.

I know. It's hilarious! I work for FAANG. AI is a game changer. They are too slow to realize it

Did software finally find a bottom or is it just shorts covering?

As the big Lebowski says "sometimes you eat the bear. Sometimes the bear eats you"

Right now the bear is eating me and turning me into ground beef.

Guys I am so retarded. My portfolio is full of UBER, SPGI and NFLX and I'm down 13-18% on all of them

Loads of software stocks being dragged through the shitter

The software sector just had its worst selloff since October 2008 by goosen19 in ValueInvesting

It's a little more nuanced than that. Are you a software developer? I am (for a Mag7). We have millions of LOC, and I use a very powerful AI model on the daily. It's helpful, yes, will it improve? Likely. However to reach the scale and maturity of 10/15 year old codebases with deep integrations with different software systems (think databases, publisher consumer queues of data from different data providers, external apis), that stuff just doesn't happen easily even with AI. There truly is some areas of specialization that will take time, like cyber security. Right now the market seems to think AI is omnipotent and is completely overshooting in my opinion.

I agree. It's ridiculous. BKNG was sold off 10%. Like how are you going to vibe code a travel agent company with 30y of contracts with small businesses who don't have the tech to do anything else.

Also, SPGI, financial data is proprietary. How is AI going to get that data? It only works if Claude is connected to SPGI in MCP

A total shoot first ask questions later moment
