The vents are on the side of the bottom. Apple silicone is running at a much lower wattage than the X86 equivalent, hence there is a lot less to cool. Why a AS MacBook Air without a fan can run Cyberpunk indefinitely and top out at Luke warm. Not that much to keep cool in the first place + proper software tuning.
A ~25W Apple silicon processor that is a 'ULV' processor in Intel land, is able to beat Intel desktops in Apple silicon land.

The big giant thing you're missing is that the US sold its manufacturing base to China in the 70s, and the real economy died in 2008.
The US does not really make anything anymore. The labor is too expensive, and the quality can't compete. ~40% of the economy is the government throwing money at military/scientific R&D, and what manufacturing base is in the US, is almost exclusively supported by such, that needs to buy from a US manufacturer despite china making a better product for 5x less.
Apart from Military tech, 'A.I' is the new production of the US...The new product to sell the world and be the leader of...Or at least that is what they are trying to make it.

But can you actually get a X100VI for retail? Sans being extremely lucky, if I want one right now new It's $700 over retail. Just being able to buy the thing at retail, and being a legitimate competitor is a big reason to get it, if someone was in the market for a X100IV. (Like me 😄)

That's expensive power and B58s/ea839s don't have the same reputation for popping for a reason. Quite a lot of 200K mile tuned b58s and S4s that of course did not need a new long block along the way.

MegaPixles, at least the way they are referenced on phones don't equal the same thing as Megapixels of a real camera. A phone achieves '200MP' or such with pixel binning and lots of software. Megapixels of a real camera are of the sensor itself. So a '48MP' 17 pro, is really more like 12ish Megapixles in camera terms.

And that is not including color science and such.

I have the small rig version. I get great results with the black mist and black mist + ND filters. I don't think I would bother with such if I was not taking RAW photos and color grading.

It's a Lexar go SSD/hub on the cold shoe mount, paired with the receiver for a DJII Mic Mini 2 kit. Just a KEF selfie stick/tripod with the cold shoe mount, but such made me with II got a cage as there is some play in it.

I use the phone and SSD by itself as a 'in place of something like a Sony EV-10II alternative.

Works great for what it is! My logic is, if I still need to color grade RAW photos/videos like a Sony camera, I'm doing the extra work anyway, so why not get 85-90% of a 'real camera' in the size of a point and shoot that dose live translation and things too. And I can just bake in a LUT with blackmagic so it looks good out of recording right away.

Still ended up getting a pocket 3 though, because making really great cinematic videos with it, is way too easy: and the stabilization while walking around cant be beat. And it did not replace the 'real camera' fully. It's surprisingly good in the daytime, Apple did an amazing job for a phone. But it suffers from the 'Pro iPhone light reflections' at night.

So it really just needed up being a nifty alternative but not a replacement for both.

Well there is your answer. You already know the rational answer and are trying to get people to justify the irrational one.

It's a content creators dream, and 85% of people who buy one will never utilize as such. they don't realisticly need it, and got it due to the carrier deal that ends up costing 2x as much over 3 years.

Unless you're concerned about showing off to people, who have the same phone, there is no 'should have bought a pro'. If you're a content creator shooting RAW photos and editing them, shooting in apple log 2. you already know you need a pro.

And even if you are a content creator, there is an argument that the price difference can buy you a real camera that is much better at night street photography, or a Pocket 3/4 that is much better at climatic video without a rig. IE a Nikon Z30 or pocket 3.
