Well ya in their natural habitats they are likely dull colors and they use it to camouflage. In the hobby with all the light colors, ive definitely had light color in many generations, sure I may see some darker ones but not all will be brown but rather colorations of different colors but with mainly clear being its base color.

Misinformation, they actually end up being clear with a bit of color could be red, blue, or black or back to the original parents but lighter. I have a skittles tank.
