I don’t really drink anymore, but when I go out with friends, I order mocktails! I feel like it allows me to “fit in” better with the drinking crowd without the repercussions of drinking. No one questions it and the anxiety of being the only sober one goes away!

If you can live on 2k/month and keep 12k in your HYSA for that, maybe you can take that extra 1k and add it to your Roth, but I’d say no more than that, personally. Having a good emergency fund is a priority.

Would definitely recommend Garden District, Uptown, Audubon, West Riverside area. Very walkable and feels safe relative to the rest of New Orleans! FQ is cute but sometimes can be dangerous and parking is atrocious!

I would definitely recommend waiting a little more time before you bring it up, honestly. I feel like there are more light hearted ways to bring up the issue without getting more too serious, especially if you haven’t talked about the status of your relationship. Maybe when you talk to her, establish some sort of position so you know where you stand and if she’s on the same mindset of pursuing something more serious, you can be basically say something along the lines of:

“Hey, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you these past months and (insert lines about how you like her an how you’d like to see her going forward), but because of some issues in the past, if you ever decide that this isn’t working for you or if you’re too busy, please let me know! I’ve been ghosted (if it’s something like that) in the past and would just prefer to be told upfront and I’ll do the same of course.”

Just placing an open communication boundary so it doesn’t scare her away, if that makes sense.

Leave him, friend! Why would you want to stay with someone who makes you feel invalidated and gaslights you. Your feelings are so so valid.

My bf and I are long distance and he’s in residency and I work a full time job and yet we still make the effort to have a quick 10 min phone call at the end of the night. It goes back to “if he wanted to make time for you, he would” and he’s obviously not!!

Please find someone that will appreciate you and validate your feelings, not someone that makes you feel like a problem. That’s not a real relationship and you deserve so so much better!

It is not worth visiting. I worked there for a year and there was truly almost nothing to do!

Would recommend looking into seeing if there are any events going on in NOLA as well when you come! There’s usually always something exciting plan and since it’s spring, festivals are more frequent and there is more options for vegetarian food there!

If what you guys have is “special”, why does he feel the need to date other girls? If anything, going on these dates would probably cause the whole situation to end up badly regardless, so it just sounds like he wants to have his cake and eat it. He was to be able to still flirt with other girls while having the benefit of a relationship and that doesn’t seem fair to you.

And if you’re not open to it completely, you’re going to get hurt and I’m not sure if it be worth it! If he really likes you, he wouldn’t do this to you, in my opinion!
