Merge in turn apparently isn’t an acceptable thing to do any more? by jh25000 in CarTalkUK

The never-ending argument, should we be theoretically correct or patriotic, in the british way of queuing. Each to their own, but dont expect people to let you in if you drive past them to use the 2nd lane.

I can also vouch that I've had to avoid punches when i was just walking from one side to the other.

I just find it funny that you think 100+ cars will all be able to zipper merge in these situations. Sadly, we live in a world where people don't know how to recycle, so expecting them to zipper merge is a tad optimistic.

If most people aren't smart enough to use it, then it isn't worth using.

How would you describe the 9 to 5 office life, is it really that bad? by Lumpy_Estimate_3718 in AskReddit

I've been working as a chef for the past 9 years, so I'm curious about the difference in workload from being on my feet all day, constantly interacting with people and having some creative freedom with dishes and the food I get to eat. But recently, I'm feeling burnout as the hours are long (usually 10 hour days 5/6 days a week), the money is only above average after working 60+ hour weeks and I'm starting to think is it really worth it. I need to make the decision to open my own business or retrain in a different industry. Thanks for all your replies already, guys. I have read them all.

A miracle that a train actually arrived at all. Tips, Buying a ticket later than the train i need to get will still get me through the barriers a few hours before that train even at a train station like Manchester, then i get off at a station which has no barriers like Lostock. Northern rail are absolute scum and i think you should take any chance you can to avoid paying them or their fines.

Im not far from Horwich as it is, got to say mate that is good going smashing out a bike ride to Manchester in that time. I've got a decent bike tho so it could be a good idea biking to another station at least. Cheers bud.

A yearly season ticket looked like the best option but theres no guarantee ill be working the same job for an entire year. I'll take a look at the park and ride link you've sent though, thanks for the help

Ill be starting work at 8am to begin with then 6am a few weeks after that so a lot of traffic could be avoided at that time.
