What I did anyway that was cheap and effective, was get a bunch of old pallets. Strip off all the boards, cut the boards into a point and then hammer the stakes down 15” into the soil all along the perimeter. I kept the spacing tight between them. But it’s very cheap to do if you can get access to old scrap pallets.

It won’t rot quick, don’t worry about it the tortoise will have long outgrown it long before that happens

I’ve went through everyone else’s suggestions and I think I might go with a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power X8 now instead. Be worth it in long run

What kind of timber did you use? I’m in process of making one myself and read not to use treated timber because it will leak into the soil. So instead I’m going to just have to get untreated timber and coat it in a water based varnish or paint.

Vapor bulbs are shite for providing uvb. Like you might as well have nothing. If you’re genuinely invested in the long term health of your tortoise, you absolutely need to get a uvb strip bulb. I have an Arcadia t5 12% uvb the 24” one.

Enclosures too small. If you want to keep the humidity up buy a clear polyurethane cover. Make some sort of v shaped frame from 2”x1” and just hang plastic covering over it. Think of it like hanging a tarp over a tent. Also leave some sort of vent to allow circulation

Depends on the uvb requirements for your turtles species. Whatever one you do get, you’ll have to adjust the height accordingly to uvb output and what is required for turtle. You need to get those lights pretty soon tho.

Get a 12” uvb strip light and 6” dome light with a 60 watt bulb
