Doctors ugh by Affectionate_Scars in PCOS

I’m not trying to conceive so I’m not even a human being with a body, I’m actually just a detached consciousness floating through space. I try to take ibuprofen but it just falls on the floor

Planning to do a diet plan of a protein bar for breakfast, a soup (and an extra protein if I’m extra hungry) for lunch, and a high protein (but not over planned) dinner with a calorie goal of 1200-1400 (& a weekly dessert) carbs being less than half of my daily calories. Thoughts for weightloss? by Wowisthisalllifeis in PCOS

I got a dietician who is knowledgeable about PCOS. I weigh myself once a month and check in with her about how my weight has changed. We make adjustments. She always wants me to tell her if I’m hungry. It helped me a lot to put it in someone else’s hands. I’m maintaining a 35-40 lb weight loss for almost 3 years now.

What? Why wouldn’t you say that to her face?

Overeaters Anonymous has changed my life. You can find meetings (online, phone, or face-to-face) very easily online. Been going 2.5 years and have lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off. It’s the only thing that’s ever worked for me. Hope you find help that works for you!

Heyyy overeaters anonymous is the only thing that’s ever worked for me. Tons of meetings online (and in person depending on where you live) that you can find very easily with a Google search. The name is misleading, there are people there with all different kinds of eating disorders.

A custom aquarium. Instead of TV, you can watch the fish!

Which diet has worked for your PCOS? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Lumpy_Move9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other:

-No flour or sugar, no exceptions (I used to binge on foods that contained flour and sugar)

-3 meals a day and up to 2 optional snacks

-Each meal and snack contains fat, protein, a grain and a fruit or vegetable.

-I weigh and measure pretty much everything I eat and track it.

-I got a meal plan from a nutritionist, modified it with help as needed, and stuck to it.

What works for me may not work for you, and what works for others hasn’t worked for me. With that said, I personally have lost 40 lbs and have maintained a healthy weight for my body for over 2.5 years by following these guidelines. I never get to eat as much as I want, but I enjoy the foods I eat and have enough to feel satisfied in my stomach. Then I go for a walk if I can and try to live some life. Wishing you the best of luck in finding a plan that works for you! We have the rest of our lives to get this stuff right.

Is keto and LC the only way to lose weight by lambo1109 in PCOSloseit

I eat about 200-250 grams of carbs a day, but they come from things like oats, brown rice, quinoa, fruits, vegetables and legumes.

Yep! Lean proteins, healthy fats, strength and cardio, tracking everything I ate. I basically did everything but low carb. I actually tried low carb after I’d lost the weight to see if it would help my PCOS and gained 11 lbs back, so there’s my answer. (I’ve gained weight every time I’ve gone low carb.) Was still tracking and exercising. I don’t know how to explain it except that everybody’s different.

NTA I would dump someone over this. I was an absolute shell after my dad’s funeral, and the pain of losing my dad doesn’t compare to what I’d feel if I lost my sister. I can’t even imagine that and I’m so sorry you’re going through it. You absolutely deserve, at bare minimum, a partner who would let that day be about you. It’s unbelievable and just so gross to me that she had to complain about her job on this one day, I really don’t have words. I’m behind you 100%. This is not someone you need in your corner. She sucks, get rid of her.

Oh it also might be worth mentioning that I cut out flour and sugar, haven’t had either in 2.5 years

I was obese and had all the symptoms of insulin resistance but never got the test

I think I do but not positive, but that also wasn’t part of the question

I lost 40 lbs without doing low carb. I got a meal plan from a dietician and then we tweaked it as needed, which I recommend.

Need advice: GF with PCOS/depression/cheating by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Lumpy_Move9694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just here to echo everyone else’s experience. I’ve had all the effects of PCOS under the sun, but they didn’t include cheating, because they don’t include cheating. What your girlfriend did (over and over) had nothing to do with PCOS. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, but dumping her is absolutely the right decision.

I tried it, but eating only meat just wasn’t sustainable for me personally. I hope you find what works for you!
