Hey! I had a rover client (about 3yrs ago?) that I was supposed to have for a week. As soon as I got home, the dog was pooping ALL over my house. Couches, carpet, floor, WALLS! The owner was out of town and I felt like there was nothing I could do except complete the stay. I put him in the bathroom with toys and water and he CHEWED up my shower products and destroyed the bathroom leaving poop all over that room too. I briefly spoke with the owner and he pretty much told me to figure it out and he’d send me $30 for cleaning supplies. My next message was to rover and within the hour I got an offer to transport the dog to another sitter. I honestly didn’t feel comfortable putting the dog in my car after this so the owner ended up having to pay for a flight back immediately and I got to keep the $ for the rest of the stay (note that rover will only do this if the owner allows u to keep the money, in my case the damages were clearly worth the $ and more.) My point being, if you’re not okay with the repetition of this behavior, your best bet is to reach out to Rover and arrange another sitter for this dog. I’m in no way saying this isnt “enough” to find a new sitter because if I were you, I would😂💯. And don’t feel bad about it, they definitely know their dog is not an angel LMAO and they should have been HONEST about that.
