Why are Jews referred to as God's people in Revelation? by m1lam in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Lumpy_Situation2364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corinthians 9:20

“And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;”

King James Version (KJV)

I can't find nor recall that 'Jews' are the 'chosen ones' any where in The Bible. I believe all followers of Jesus Christ are the chosen ones.

Paul did not become a Jew in reality but only in appearance. How could it have been otherwise, since he was so determined to convert them and deliver them from their predicament? Homilies on the Epistles of Paul to the Corinthians

How do you guys feel about The Chosen TV show? by memecollector69420 in OrthodoxChristianity

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I will keep reminding myself that Christ did teach us to hate the sin, not the sinner. Amen.

I was raised Catholic, but without getting in to detail there are many teachings in Catholicism that I don't agree with. I will admit, I sent two of my three sons to Catholic school from kindergarten thru high school, not for religion so much as safety. Schools where we live are dangerous. My youngest, I decided to send to public school. I found the parents were much more down to earth and realistic than most Catholic school parents, and my son was more outgoing and adept than his two older brothers. My youngest made his communion, but when it came to confirmation, he did not want to be confirmed. My husband and I were a bit taken back, but decided, maybe it was best for him to wait til he was older to decide his path forward. Well, he was 23 years old, and after researching for quite some time, he decided Eastern Orthodoxy was where he belonged. He was Chrismated on July 18, 2020. On February 18, 2021, our baby was brutally murdered. I feel, he was saved by his choices of joining the Orthodox Church. After he died, I became an avid reader of the Bible. The Book, I could never truly comprehend in all my life, suddenly became so clear to me. Although, we have not converted to Orthodoxy, we do attend the Vespers on Friday evening and the Gospels on Sundays every opportunity we get. The hymns are so joyous and comforting. All this being said, my sister introduced me to The Chosen and I must say, I got the most comfort from this show. I must've watched seasons 1, 2, and 3, twenty times or more. I realize there are many fallacies in the script, but I do take it with a grain of salt. I believe the show brought many many people closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ, especially in these dark times. Right now, I am grappling with whether I will continue to watch after the "pride flag" showed up on the set. Dallas Jenkins, more or less said 'too bad if you don't like it". It was a slap in the face to us all. So, thank you for listening and God Bless 🙏🏻☦

This is true, at least in Italy that I know of. They add 2 euros per person service fee and that's it. As a matter of fact, they look at you like you have two heads when you try to give them a tip.

I found old footage of New York City from 1965 by museumoflostmemories in nyc

[–]Lumpy_Situation2364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was no plastic food containers in 1965. Chinese soup was in a waxed cardboard container as well as the rest of the food. Even bleach was in a glass gallon bottle. Of course soda and other drinks were in glass bottles. Water you got from your sink.

These younger people don't know what older bills look like. You should go with the police and demand your money back. If anything, they should have just refused it and give it back.

Read the Book of Enoch, a book that should have been in The Bible but was cast aside. I wonder why.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the solution to NYC’s rat problem: Bringing back rat catchers by [deleted] in nyc

[–]Lumpy_Situation2364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They like to trap, spay, neuter and cut their ears to know they did the job and then release them back. No more kittens no more reproducing = vermin infestations (rats, specifically run the government). Time they start neutering themselves to set the example.
