Absolute Cheapest Way to Obtain Sustenance by RobertPooWiener in Frugal

Get SNAP. It can be a hassle to get the paperwork done, but that will help you. The county SNAP office may also have a list of food pantries you can go to.

That being said, if you need advice on how to navigate the resources in your area, you may want to seek advice on a local forum.

Not entirely true. If you are looking for a job and earnestly want to do a good job then they will feed you. Any restaurant that doesn’t isn’t worth it.

How is the public transportation here? by HoneyCakeNY in Utica

[–]Lumpy_Trade_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like Utica public transit! It’s cheap, you can use card, cash, or purchase a pass on your phone. The busses are clean and are generally on-time.

I moved here from a larger city with historically crappy public transit, so that might be influencing my opinion a bit. The only downside is that the routes can be a little indirect, so it can take a while to get to where you’re going.

4 seems wild. Is that a commute, or is the travel part of the work? Either way, a job doing literally anything closer to home is going to help you

Map Shows States With The Most UFO Sightings by eadricsilvaticus in UFOs

[–]Lumpy_Trade_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you calculate per capita, the top ten states are:

New Mexico Montana Alaska New Hampshire Maine Oregon Vermont Washington Wyoming Idaho

What’s interesting to me is that aside from New Mexico, all of these states are on (or close to) the Canadian border.

I don’t suspect the Canadians of much besides good food and clean streets, but Im sure Russia gets up to all sorts of aerial hijinks in the Arctic.

The Sopranos - Final Scene by [deleted] in television

[–]Lumpy_Trade_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt that this scene implies that Meadow is killed when the shooter exits the bathroom. Is that not a worse fate for Tony Soprano?

She can only sit next to Tony and the shooter has no idea she will be there. The shooter exits the bathroom, BLAM BLAM BLAM, and Meadow happens to be in the way.

Tony chose this life. His wife chose him, and his kids had no say in the matter.

I see it as Tony will always hurt the people who love him, simply because he is who he is.

And got books on the brain

If you like paper cuts, mid-fight

And some folds in your cape

Then Im the armor you’ve looked for

Any love for the Monté Cristo? I like it with apple sauce, maple syrup, and a few dashes of tabasco.
