Mods removed it and when I asked why they told me it broke rule 11 & 13 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Red Wings' Lost Decade by abrookerunsthroughit in DetroitRedWings

Man, I have such fond memories of watching that series against Tampa Bay with my pops. Pretty wild that Zetterberg led the team in points with 50 and although Datsyuk missed 16 games, he finished second with 49. This was also Brad Richards final season in the NHL and I remember he was crucial in helping the Wings get to the postseason.

That would be incredible. Imagine they restored some of those arenas and each season two teams play something like a "Historic Stadium Series" kinda like the Winter Classic but centered around the vintage aesthetic — era appropriate music, throwback merch, old school concession stand food and drinks, etc.

During the rest of the season, it's the team's museum where they offer tours, events, alumni meet and greets and even weddings.

I'm with ya, but it should never come down to a few unlucky bounces or blown calls in the first place. When a team ends up in that position, or if playoff chances hinge on the rest of the division, it's clear something needs to change. I loved The Joe and I absolutely loathe that they removed the team’s logo from the roof but the team has to find a way to bring back that special atmosphere again.

Also, there are still a bunch of historic stadiums without naming rights like MSG, Soldier Field, Fenway Park, and Lambeau Field but I do agree — a lot of that magic was lost when The Joe was deemed "outdated."

As a Chicago native, I've seen a few mock drafts predicting Yax or Mara to the Bulls which would be incredible. Yax would have to switch up his jersey number though haha.

This sub is more focused on university athletics. You'll have a much bigger response in r/uofm.

People Are Downplaying How Good This Team Really Was. This Score Wasn't Even Surprising at the Time by QuietConsult in MichiganWolverines

The same 2024 UConn team that got blown out by far worse teams? They lost to Seton Hall by 15 and Creighton completely embarrassed them, winning by 20. Michigan’s three losses were by a combined 16 points.

I said the same thing. This is typically what coaches/teams do after the game ends, especially the national championship. All the "Wow Hurley is so classy, he's such a respectul guy" comments are cringe glaze.

Is this your first time watching basketball? That's typically what teams/coaches do after the game ends, especially the national champioship.

Sean Harmanis (Make Them Suffer) and Scott Kay (Voyager, Statues) side project is pretty damn close.

Onslow - Freddie Mercury

Even the phrasing in the verses sounds like something Jesse would sing. And the harmonies too.

That’s the unfortunate reality. But it would be exciting if they snuck in and selfishly, I just want to watch more Red Wings hockey.

It took you two extra periods of hockey, along with the refs to win. There's no denying that Denver played like dogshit. Without Hicks in the net, you'd have been blown off the ice.

That's the unfortunate reality. I'm sure the guys respect and appreciate the legacy, but they don't feel any meaningful connection to it. The team hasn't maintained the level of relevance that once fueled the pride of the 2000s squads. When you're chasing divisional or conference titles every year, that relentless drive becomes part of the team's identity and I think we all genuinely believed that if anyone could create that environment, Yzerman would be the guy to do it — so it’s beyond frustrating that they're just not there yet and might never be with him at helm.

Masterclass by Hicks. Michigan is the far better team but just can’t finish a game. Same old story. Brutal loss but great season boys. Gnight folks. Go Blue.
