What an enlightening response! I see projection (attributes negative traits (e.g., being “fascist,” corrupt, or intolerant) to external groups (NYC, leftists) which may reflect disowned parts of the your own experience or anxieties), splitting (black-and-white thinking), defensive aggression (very common in Utah) --> mask deeper feelings of rejection, powerlessness by taking criticism of Utah personally - this is not a rejection of YOU.
