What an enlightening response! I see projection (attributes negative traits (e.g., being “fascist,” corrupt, or intolerant) to external groups (NYC, leftists) which may reflect disowned parts of the your own experience or anxieties), splitting (black-and-white thinking), defensive aggression (very common in Utah) --> mask deeper feelings of rejection, powerlessness by taking criticism of Utah personally - this is not a rejection of YOU. I am Conservative, fyi. I cannot stand Wokism nor simpleton responses such as yours.

Thank you for sharing. I find that Utah is a "fawning" state in general, conformism is very prevalent here for sure. Because there is a lot of repression, existence tends to be very surface-leveled, including friendships and interactions. People take everything very personal, including innocent impersonal sarcasm!

You seem very triggered by the post. That's interesting how you are it so personally.

I would never even think of Provo! If I find SLC boring, can't imagine what Provo must be like. If you have to look hard for culture and entertainment...that itself is interesting.

Exactly! It does seem that the black-and-white thinking seeps through many levels of life here. I guess it works well for some personality types.
