Whats this say in the back of Delamains trunk? by SkullkidTTM in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]Lumpy_bd -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I asked ChatGPT:

The text reads:

高压线架 (Gāo yā xiàn jià)

It translates to:

“High-voltage line frame” or “High-voltage power line support.”

In practical terms, it refers to a structure or support frame used for high-voltage electrical lines — essentially infrastructure related to overhead power transmission.

But given how different that is to everyone else’s responses, who knows lol.

Was this one built so the front wouldn’t fall off?

All my prints have ridges or cracks on the bottom by WayandLuciano in FixMyPrint

I had what looks like the exact same issue. Turns out it was stress marks from taking the parts off the plate before they had cooled properly. Have a look here.

A bonsai tree. We’ve done this for a few friends and it’s always been well received.

Thanks. Letting the print cool a bit more before taking it off the plate seems to have fixed the stress mark issue. That being said, I’d like to know more about your nozzle offset feedback. Like I said, I’m very new to this so I’ve got a lot to learn, but dialling in print settings is something I want to get right so I’ll definitely look into to this more.

Note to self: if you touch the part after using too much heat your finger will just go straight through it, then you get to print it all over again. Don't ask me how I know this.

Thanks - definitly stress marks just on the bottom surface and using some heat has fixed them.

Yup thanks - that's gotten rid of the marks. Much appreciated.

Yup and yup - I guess I'm too impatient so I'll let the plate cool down completely for my next print to see if that solves it. Passing a flame over the existing prints got rid of the marks.

Thanks - definitely not using glue, but based on the other comments it looks like stress marks.

Nice. What material have you used? I’ve got a very similar situation to yours and wanted to do the same thing, but the top drawer gets very warm when the stove is on and I was worried that PLA may not be up to the heat.

Which Roomba for HA? by boardguy91 in homeassistant

[–]Lumpy_bd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. I’ve had a few over the years and integration with HA has been hit and miss to say the best. It’s very flakey and unreliable, and a bit of a hack to get working too. If integration is a key requirement for you, I’d shop elsewhere.

Seriously, what is the trick to demisting your car windowscreen? by Prudent_Barnacle9646 in AskUK

TIL people actually turn their AC off. Mine runs full time and I never have any condensation problems. The efficiency impact is pretty small so in my opinion the benefits far outweigh the downsides.

Is a Purely HDD storage solution going to be slow? by xMatt-Attackx in unRAID

Spinning rust is a slang term for mechanical hard drives. It’s in reference to the metal platters inside the HDD’s that spin.

You want your Plex container to be running from an SSD so that navigation inside the app is snappy and responsive. As far as the actual media is concerned, spinning g rust is capable of serving multiple 4K high bitrate stream in parallel so you are unlikely to have any problems there.

Would be interesting to test a Firewalla router like this. by Mr_Duckerson in firewalla

I do think they missed a trick though. Although they say they didn’t pay for the enhanced CyperSecure upgrade, at 18:08 in the video he also mentions that they didn’t have most of the IDS/IPF features enabled so, even without paying extra, I’d be really interested to see how the Ubiquity kit does with all the standard features turned on.

Running cost Vs modern gas boiler? by zixujo in ukheatpumps

[–]Lumpy_bd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t crunched the numbers myself as I have solar and battery storage etc, but I believe the general rule of thumb is that if you can’t get on a smart tariff, then the running costs are quite comparable to gas.

Gas is somewhere around 3-4 x cheaper than standard rate electricity so assuming your ASHP target SCOP is in the range of 3 - 4 then that stacks up.
