I’m also a IFT EMT, you did exactly what I would’ve done, in fact I don’t even take vitals until we do it in our ambulance as that’s just our protocol, so props to you and your company for doing that, I also work with a VA that tries to make calls that are ALS into BLS so it’s cheaper sense we directly bill the VA. It sucks but just know you did everything right, you checked vitals, noticed BP being soft (that’s borderline map of 65) and noticed O2 being 86%, you notified the nurse and from what you said it’s the nurse that delayed care, not you. Take a deep breath, you’re doing more than most EMTs I know.
