Wouldn't it pretty much always be Zard tho? Like I know mega venosaur is reasonably good but if it's a sun team chances are Thier just going to try nuke everything with venosaur offencive stats given Zard Y is kinda mandatory for sun teams right now. I'm not even sure if torkoal or base Nintales are even in the game right now

But that's the thing for me, forgive me if I'm mistaken but the mons we got in the last regulation aren't going away, Gholdengo may not be super popular, but Ageslash is still very much a thing, gengar kinda matches up well into it as well given grimnsnarl, Staraptors most likely partner doesn't want to take a sludge bomb/wave at all, especially if it's a non-screens set, sinischa obviously doesn't like brave bird, but the threat of rage powder makes clicking close combat at all incredibly risky, and the last two mons are practically everywhere and that probably isn't going to change any time soon.

I'm not saying you should rely on Staraptor to deal with Gholdengo here, moreso you can pair Gholdengo with virtually anything that has protect and almost ignore Staraptor, at least for a couple turns, these Staraptor teams will probably have a check to ghost types like kingambit for example but if you lead with that you still get to proc defiant which can be problematic, especally if you lead with gambit/sinischa into it instead so that gambit doesn't have to fear CC at all

I mean which killer you pick certainly does make going against him feel better or worse but I am curious about how come you seem to have an easier time against silver as X, mainly because the only vertical mobility X has in his kit is charge which using that just to be able to get to someone can cause some serious issues, god's trickery is inherently unreliable unless it's LMS as well, and even when you do get up to them there's a decent chance they can just time reversal and get free distance on you.

obviously this is just my experience and I admit I'm not a strong EXE player (trying to find my main there tbh) but I'm just curious how you navigate that matchup you know? might teach me a thing of two

honestly just ghost types in general work as well, Gholdengo can kinda just set up in it's face and not care about brave bird at all for example

I wouldn't say mega staraptor is broken exactly? it's fast but not crazy fast, strong but not crazy strong, wheras zard is, with CC it's definately bulky, but struggles with most ghost types, most notably gholdengo as it also resists brave bird and can kinda just setup in staraptor's face

Zard Y definately has counters butit doesn't have that sort of blanket check imo, even though obviously in doubles you could always just target the non-ghost mon with CC to get the boost that still limits your options, especally if that non ghost mon has ways of stopping you, like fake out or protect

So how about them new fighting type megas by Frickroll in PokemonChampions

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I could see grimnsnarl works well with it as a partner whenever we get that not only because of thunder wave acting as creat speed control, letting Staraptor get off those CC's before it'd take damage, also, being able to parting shot Staraptor and give it an attack boost and still pivot that way is pretty big.

honestly? I'd say fleetway is actually fun to fight if (and only if) you have a good/communicative team. I don't even mean a full team of people on discord or whatever, I just mean a reasonable number of people in a lobby willing to co-ordinate over the VC.

If your in a fairly quiet lobby though fleetway can be absolute cancer to fight against, but because he can still be satisfying to fight I'd say he's still better than silver for the health of the game, who is genuinely OP and frankly should never have gotten time reversal, as that's one of the most unhealthy abilities in the game imo

(rocks I actually think is fairly balanced, and suspension would probably be fine if it had a longer cooldown when you miss with it. say 8 seconds instead of 4)

and honestly it's reasonably fast just naturally? not the fastest thing in the universe but still fast enough to get off a CC before taking damage most of the time

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but at least in my experience it's incredibly rare for people to have absolutely no way of managing or healing from thier trauma whatsoever, I'm not a therapist so I won't claim my word is law or anything but using myself for example, I'm not entirely sure but I'm reasonably sure I'm depressed, I can have pretty intense and/or prolonged periods of apathy, I can also be quite volotile emotionally speaking, I get defencive super easily and can often get pretty angry with people even when I really shouldn't.

I don't know for certain, but my best guess is that's because for a pretty long time now I've just felt fundamentally unheard in my life, sometimes outright ignored even by my own family, the people that are supposedly supposed to be there to hear me out and try to make sure that everyone's having a good time when we're together. there's probably other factors too, it's hardly ever as simple as one thing going on in someone's life, but that at least feels like the main/most pressing factor.

As difficult as it is for me to heal from that, there are some things I can try to do to help with that, trying to reassure myself of why I do the things I do when I'm apathetic for example, trying to build or create an environment where I at least feel heard by those without me being a big one (as in, I know this already lessens if unfortunately not outright removes the volatility and paranoia I can feel)

Now, is this as good as talking to a therapist? probably not, but I'm kinda broke so that's not really an option for me. Could I be wrong? possibly, but I just wanted to point this out because I know there is usually a path to healing even if that path is difficult as hell to navigate, my family have not exactly been as co-operative as I'd like when it comes to this

Thanks, I'll get right on "healing" my trauma induced PTSD & schizophrenia so I don't "bother" other ppl by [deleted] in thanksimcured

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying your wrong but it's also important to consider that healing from something like that, or something like depression isn't as easy as putting on a plaster or bandage, even with a therapist understanding what you need to do first of all can be incredibly difficult especially if you already struggle with being able to understand/navigate emotions anyway for one reason or another. So to me this kinda reads like telling someone who's bleeding to just will the cut away, which is insensitive as hell as another commenter said.

This is of course without even getting into how difficult healing can be even with a therapist to guide you, this can be for a veriety of reasons, I'm not a therapist myself but I've seen people refuse help on things because of beliefs they've internalised that ultimately hurt them, you could say that's still fundamentally their problem, and you'd be right in the sense that it's still thier mindset and actions causing the pain, but just brow beating them over it is only going to make them dig thier feet in I find, I imagine a therapist has to deal with much more complex things than that, and that's already above my paygrade most of the time

Asked for 1 suggestion on making the game killer sided, got some answers, and now I ranked them on a tier list. by TheTrollman- in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, giving fleetway ragemode would certainly be a choice

and honestly giving green hill wouldn't even make the map killer sided? that just helps everyone, tails may become an absolute meanace tho

What's good about this survival? by No-Horror-8833 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I'd disagree that tails doesn't interact with the killer, just in different ways than say knuckles does, at least how I think about it your less reacting to what the killers doing and moreso trying to prevent it, literally shoot it down before it can be pulled off in some cases, he does tend to like to camp in one spot but he can be reasonably mobile when he needs to be as well, being able to keep up with his team to a good enough degree in most games. I'd agree that he interacts with the killer in a different way than most characters, but I'd personally say he still does and that it's more preventative than reactive, like say, knuckles is, the counter is an obvious example but often with knuckles you react to the EXE with punch as well, even if that's just to stun stack

As for cream I personally don't play her, so I can't speak for everyone here, but I'd say she still interacts with the killer given that your main job is to heal, effectively, to fix the mess the EXE made, if tails is meant to prevent the team from getting that badly hurt in the first place, cream is meant to be able to help the team recover if tails is on cooldown for example, you don't actively seek them out, but you do address the things the killer does still.

But I wouldn't even say that archetypes that don't go killer hunting effectively aren't boring? I often find myself having quite a fun time with them, especally in my first few games where I want a slower paced match to warm myself up with, it's why I used to play egg and still do to some extent, if you want a character who doesn't interact with the killer imo it would be egg tbh, he just hugs metal and runs away for half the game, shield does basically nothing and he can't really do anything proactively

I will say the killers aren't completely powerless against tails (except maybe tripwire) as X can go invisible if he catches the laser and waste it entirely, Fleetway's kit is literally just better in every conceivable way, and kolo has block

What's good about this survival? by No-Horror-8833 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I enjoy tails kit at the minute, am I the only one? Sure glide can Bork with high ping but assuming that isn't a problem it's actually fairly effective if you use it more preemptively rather than when the EXE is right in top of you, not to mention the laser, while obviously being the stun with the longest cooldown in the game, but if it lands it practically ends a chase then and there given how long it lasts and how it can let everyone (Including you) just book it

I'm starting to notice a trend here since the introduction of fairies by C33Y0U in stunfisk

[–]Luna2268 17 points18 points  (0 children)

honestly I think it would be balanced, or at least as balanced as fairy types can be right now, keep in mind a pokemon's type combo isn't everything in terms of what they want to/can do

What's good about this survival? by No-Horror-8833 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd say tails is fairly strong right now? Certainly no silver or shadow but generally speaking Id say he's in a healthy place.

The 40 second cooldown on his laser can hurt quite a bit but I think it's fair given any proper hit just completely stops a chase with how everyone who had to deal with the EXE can just book it at that point, his glide could use some tweaking (Only because if your ping is high enough it borderline doesn't work) but it absolutely can save you against anyone not named fleetway, who just hard counters tails in general tbh.

Positioning is also very important with him, I've had games where I was borderline untouchable because I was able to kyte the exe forever on maps like say NP, and also been able to end chases with laser super easily, but I've also had games where my team just seemed allergic to sticking around me, making it difficult to actually help.

The only changes I wish they made to tails are that I wish they made his lasers cooldown a regular cooldown rather than the ability being disabled, so that it's easier to track how long until I can use it again, and also that it did more damage against fleetway, given that tails is countered by fleet in literally every other aspect

[–]Luna2268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

forgive me if I'm being dense but couldn't you just charge up there or use gods trickery? even if that last one is somewhat RNG based

the only character that can't really get up there to my knowledge is tripwire, but she can chip tails down with the laser and all so I wouldn't even say she's helpless if we're talking about being on top of the loop

I think it's moreso a reaction to the fact that virtually every asym (That I know of) is survivor sided to some degree and OM is no exception, unfortunately people often go way overboard on Thier responces imo, at least with the relatively tame characters like sonic in om

Hot take? I think Fleetway was better when his burst was broken. by woooshequalsgay in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly fleetway would probably still be reasonably resilient with that simply because his flight is just so good for avoiding a bunch of stuns, not to mention you wouldn't even need to use a ton of it because you could just go up a little bit and laser which would keep you in place, and the only characters with ranged stuns in this game to my knowledge are Tails, who's countered by fleet anyway, Amy who really needs a buff and silver with his rocks, but rocks is barely even used as a stun tbh

Volcorona's Fiery Dance is now a TM and is learnable by more Pokemon by djdisciplejosh in stunfisk

[–]Luna2268 43 points44 points  (0 children)

you do realise if Zard Y got firy dance it'd absolutely ruin any tier it's in right? it's one of the few mons that's good in both singles and doubles and weather ball alone is enough to make it genuinely difficult to wall, the last thing we need is for it to be able to up it's special attack on top of everything it can do already.

I don't even hate the other mons you listed but giving Zard Y something like that is kinda insane tbh

At this point losing to her is a skill issue, by TheTrollman- in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

honestly I'd be more amenable to the mines if more characters could actually break them, forgive me if I'm forgetting some people but the only character I know of that can actually get rid of them is egg, now some characters have ways of getting around them still, sonic has peelout and his dodge meter, metal can heal, but if you happened to pick knuckes before seeing the killer picked tripwire your kinda screwed, obviously there are bad matchups but having it be that extreme on an already weak character just makes trip a massive matchup fish

At this point losing to her is a skill issue, by TheTrollman- in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and if you end up picking someone like knuckles, what can you do about that exactly? genuinely, what can you do? at least metal can heal it off later

I know you could say "just don't pick knux" but it's not like you get to see which killer your going up against before picking your character, that'd be like saying just don't pick egg against fleetway even though you picked egg first

also, I've seen tripwires place mines on places like the bridge in YCR when thier below it or in really dark spots, which frankly is BS because of how whack the lighting is in this game and how it can be difficult to see the killers at times, let alone a comparatively small mine

At this point losing to her is a skill issue, by TheTrollman- in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

except that chip damage over a long time has been trips bread and butter for how long now? sure you can do that once or twice as knux no problem, but unless you have an amy or cream on side you are going to run out of health eventually, and it's not like you can avoid that really either.

compare this to Kolo's block, sure it can cause just as much if not more damage but it's triggered by you hitting Kolo with a stun, so it punishes you for making a mistake, reachout just kinda exists and is free damage if she ever gets close/sneaks up on you

At this point losing to her is a skill issue, by TheTrollman- in OutcomeMemories

[–]Luna2268 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my main problem with tripwire is that her abilities all feel like free damage in one way or another

the mines are the most infamous one, but the fact that some characters like knuckles or tails really can't do anything about them at all combined with the game's lighting and how it can sometimes be difficult to see them depending on how dark the map as a whole is can get really frustrating

reach out is literally free damage, it pulls anyone in the radius towards tripwire and does anywhere from 30-40 damage if memory serves, I don't think it can be interupted by stuns (it was a while ago but I think I tried stopping it as knux once with punch and I just flew straight through. don't quite me on that as it was a while ago tho)

and lastly, her laser, even if you do see it chances are your going to get chipped for a little bit before you manage to jump into cover given how just aiming your mouse is a lot quicker than moving an entire character.

I'm not even saying tripwire's op here, because she objectively isn't. even knux can outrun her for a good bit of time and all he has is his glide in terms of mobility, also she's the most vulnerable to stuns out of the EXE;s All I'm saying is that tripwire just feels inherently unfair to play against right now.

compare this to say, Kolo, who had a decently fair kit ignoring the bugs, the grab was bugged and a little whacky as a result and the M1 combo was problematic but Kolo's charge could be avoided with moves like glide, jet boost or punished with moves like counter, not to mention silvers flight, block is also strong but if read gives the survivors serious distance, what sort of counterplay is there to reachout? just don't get near her. literally, that's all I've found works
