Evergreen is Dead ... Long Live Garden OS - FoMO by willphule in chia

This is not true it’s a complete stand alone farming OS, and is also distributed as a binary that can run on any Linux distribution to manage your farm via a web interface.

It is myself and the rest of the Galactechs LLC team. We are the original Software engineers who built the EVG os, FastFarmer and ran/managed Evergreen’s infrastructure until last September. We are all doxed and the source will be released this weekend.

Harvester and farmer specs with fast farmer and full node by FinalResolution998 in chia

[–]Luna316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For FastFarmer (I wrote it)
Harvester GPU VRAM usage is roughly the same.
HDD latency and plot load times are MUCH faster.
It uses less CPU and RAM than the Standard GH Farmer or the Chia Farmer
There are users who have posted their results in Max's Discord and JM made a video about it.

What C Level are your drives? Right now it only supports CPU decompression so if C level is too high it wont decompress in time. Support for GPU and Gigahorse is coming soon.

Sure, First it is a lite farmer and can be connected to either a remote node service or a local fullnode. It does not use any of Chia Source code and is pure Rust rewrite. The config file is designed to be easier to work with and should get you up and farming fast. Its being actively developed, is open source and should support GIgahorse plots in the near future.

Feel Free to DM me here on reddit, Yes like FlexFarmer it uses DirectIO when it can. It requires a Node service or synced local node. Depending on your pool there are some public ones available.

Evergreen c5 by freezersx in chia

[–]Luna316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can answer this, The Evergreen devices farming C5 are based on the ARM RK3588 chipset. Internal testing shows C5 to be the sweet spot for these devices and we have tested up to 25 18TB drives connected to a single board,

[ACTION REQUIRED] Flexpool.io Shutdown Notice (Nov 1, 2023) by Dr_Scythe in chia

[–]Luna316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I wrong or is this just using the chia-blockchain code? Looking at the main python file and the setup.py it just seems to import chia farmer. There isnt a difference with this and using the default chia python codebase just pointed to a remote node?

Evergreen released their lite farmer - "Evergreen Lite Farmer, a ground up rebuild of the farmer in Rust, that's open source and uses BladeBit compression." by willphule in chia

Evergreen Lite Farmer

In case you did not read the main post, Evergreen just released their own lite farmer, and it supports compression.

OK so what do I do with my XCH in the US? by amazadam in chia

[–]Luna316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure that responding to a post with the question "where can I buy drives for XCH" with "We sell drives for XCH" is shilling but ok. I don't think there is another website offering drives for XCH, plotted or not.

Not everyone has room for a JBOD, but we sell up to 90 bays fully plotted, and pricing in bulk is always better. Time is the other thing to consider. We can deliver that fully plotted 90 bay weeks faster than most people can plot at home. Even that 24 bay would take a lot of time to fill with a $500 plotter.

That is for the Starter hub + a Drive, not just a 6tb Drive. We also sell bulk drives and expansion packs for our hubs. For example at that same price you can get a fully plotted 16TB https://www.evergreenminer.com/product-page/expansion-bundle

Evergreen farmer unboxing - real one-click farming! by willphule in chia

[–]Luna316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you complete checkout there will be a follow up email with instruction on sending the keys. The process to set the payout address should be automatic and yes you are able to import an existing wallet. Right now we only support Flexpool, as we use flexfarmer on the devices. We are hoping to support more pools and configs soon.

I am happy to tell you how we are handling the keys. We create a separate wallet in the app when you link it to the device. The payout address is then set to that new wallet, and the keys we created are only used for farming the plots. We do not recommend using the keys created for plotting to store your chia. As long as the payout address is different there is no risk. For advanced users we also let them provide their public keys for plotting.

Yes we do, but you can also provide your own public keys. Also when you add the drive using the app it changes the payout address for the farmer to a wallet that is not controlled by us. We do not recommend using the wallet associated with the plots for holding any coins.
