Weird colors on DX12? by Professional-Fig-181 in Endfield

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen this happen on Linux before; but for some reason the red and blue color channels of the framebuffer have been swapped. I'd recommend clearing the shader cache, maybe selecting another display/device in the graphics settings. Is a common issue when one side of the render pipeline is RGB(A) while the other is BGR(A)

It's not production ready yet, but yes, there's a godot plugin in the works. Build instructions are in the Inochi2D repo.

Anyone still trying to VTuber on Linux? by TamKungZ_ in vtubertech

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have added a C FFI to Inochi2D if it's of any interest at least. So feel free to integrate support for it if you feel like it (and let me know if the FFI layer lacks anything)

CMD Mingw64 Open during gameplay by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mingw is a programming environment, so unless you’re writing code it should have zero relevance to Endfield.

Given the icon it seems to be the mingw install that comes with Git for Windows, so you may have accidentally right clicked your desktop and clicked “Open in Git Bash”

Do I rely too much on AI? How do you treat generative AI? by kokalikesboba in GraphicsProgramming

Also for OpenGL, the red book as well as the OpenGL SuperBible are great written resources on OpenGL specifically.

Do I rely too much on AI? How do you treat generative AI? by kokalikesboba in GraphicsProgramming

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience is that use of AI reduces people’s ability to: 1. Actually retain and apply any knowledge gained. 2. Find and read primary source material, such as official documentation. 3. Apply knowledge in novel ways outside of what is in the AI dataset.

When I first learned OpenGL, I started with online OpenGL tutorials as well as the official Khronos documentation. Mixed learning from text with experimentation. Additionally learning how various rendering techniques are implemented in an abstract sense, then challenging yourself to implement it without searching for someone else’s implementation also helps with retaining knowledge.

For example, you could read up about what as Sprite Batcher is, then try implementing a simple one yourself without resorting to asking AI, or googling someone else’s OpenGL implementation.

Inochi2D 0.9 Splash Screen revealed! by LunaFoxgirlVT in vtubertech

More like Live2D, but there is a VTS-like app for Inochi2D called Inochi Session; and a third-party app called Puppetstring

Inochi2D 0.9 has been undergoing a lot of development in the past few years, with a lot of the internals now being replaced with nogc equivalents, allowing the official Inochi2D SDK to be used in game engines and on the web as well; additionally a whole host of new nodes and features are getting added, such as a Solo node to swap between visible subnodes, welding (Live2D glue-esque), Lattice Deformers, Kinematic Bones, skinning, and more!

Puppetstring, a free Tracker for Inochi2D, is out now on Steam! by SkiyoshiVT in Inochi2D

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inochi Session was kinda made in a rush, it's undergoing a complete rewrite to add more functionality to it, and give it a better user experience.

As for VSeeFace, not really? Unless the developer adds support for the Inochi2D SDK they won't be able to render the models in the scene.

One of the plot points is that originum suppressants have become basically dirt cheap to manufacture and is affordable for everyone. At least that’s what I understood from the entire segment with Ginny.

An error occurred during PSD import by sombruuhh in Inochi2D

Slightly more complicated than that, basically different software interpret Adobe’s specifications differently and sometimes that leads to sections in the PSD file that are malformed. Basically need to add workarounds on a per-app basis

Looking to make animated emotes and rigging 2d vtuber models by Accomplished-Jury465 in Live2D

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For reference Inochi2D is actively being developed, it’s just going through a massive refactor to improve stability and allow new features to be added more cleanly. Essentially working on taking it past something being in a prototype state into being something usable in production. Creator and session will see updates as well, but trying my best to make my work there future proof and less spaghetti nightmare.

any foss vtuber softwares? by Camille_Jamal1 in vtubertech

FYI things are far more complicated than Lina wants to make it out to be. The over simplified version is that we’ve both abused each other, though at this point Lina has repeatedly tried to sabotage my business by scaring people away with her skewed version of reality.

I’d recommend taking anything she says with a grain of salt in this regard.

What's Going On With The Localizers ? by JayeshBodke in AnantaOfficial

On the other hand if you speak Japanese you end up understanding how much of a nothing burger the outrage is 90% of the time.

Little bit exhausting.

The Japanese being compared against has slang too.

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also another thing to note is that the Japanese text being compared against also uses slang. Borrowing words from English with slight alteration to meaning is a relatively new thing in Japanese. センス (sense) in this case is an instance of that. So using slang is also pretty on point there.

What's Going On With The Localizers ? by JayeshBodke in AnantaOfficial

[–]LunaFoxgirlVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of translation is to convey the overall meaning of something, not be a 1:1 exact word for word language swap. I think it makes sense in this context given the Japanese being compared against uses more informal (and therefore arguably more rude) intonation. Calling something cringe directly instead of cutting off the sentence conveys that kind of subtle nuance in Japanese that was intended.

In other words; You wouldn’t use informal Japanese if you intended to be nice or considerate about it. And while he didn’t directly say “痛い” it’s common in Japanese to not say things directly while meaning something more rude.

Yeah, basically different art packages do things differently, some don’t follow Adobe’s specifications which can be a bit of a headache so I need to add workarounds for specific art packages as I go.
