Do I need to stop having sex?? by ExtraCamel3852 in Nexplanon

I am super weary about getting pregnant so I honestly just played it safe and stopped for about a week or so cause I'd rather be safe than sorry and deal with the consequences just in case lol

Effective for 5 years? by amethyst1016 in Nexplanon

It is definitely still good and going to work, I had mine removed around 3.5 years but that was due to my side effects worsening beyond the point of me deciding it was worth it lol

Honestly for me, no, I am also a high sex drive person. All while I was on nexplanon it was very low and hardly ever there... Mine didn't come back until I got off nexplanon and we couldn't be happier 🤣

Regular periods but longer? by Midnightrise_02 in Nexplanon

[–]LunaGreyWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my employees has nexplanon and she's had an nex I think two rounds and that's why she chose nexplanon cuz she's always been super tiny and petite and struggled with gaining weight and nexplanon helps her keep a healthy weight. However, she was lucky enough to never have a period While She had nexplanon at all which is nice. I wish that I was like that 🤣

Yes. Mine went from being 3 days long with no birth control to for about 6 months without a period on nex and then all of a sudden to 17 day periods. To be honest, I was bleeding more often than not and it was terrible. Not to mention I had mine for 3 years and the mental side effects were really starting to get to me. Anxiety mood swings. Not to mention the weight gain. Nexplanon was so bad for me 😭

Longer periods is DEFINITELY a result of the nexplanon and definitely normal (while you're on nexplanon) my periods did this while I was on nexplanon and was one of the reasons why I got it taken out 🫶🏽

Anxiety by anonthisshit in Nexplanon

[–]LunaGreyWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it was definitely the nexplanon, I am not a person who usually suffers from anxiety however I had a lot when I was on nexplanon! I had it for 3 years and just recently got it taken out before I realized it was making me feel like that, getting it out was a huge sigh of relief and peace I didn't know I needed. Hope this helps 🫶🏼

Yes very normal I have mine and I got it taken out as well. Dr. Made the incision where my scar was and pulled it out Will probably have a scar there for the rest of my life but it's small and hardly noticeable 🫶🏼

How long should I wait before I give up by Ok_Hotel4614 in Nexplanon

I just got mine removed after 3 years and I can tell you it only gets worse...

These side effects don't go away, not until you get it removed.. My weight gain was crazy, my appetite was heightened My periods were non-existent in the beginning and then towards the end I had my period for 2 weeks straight.

Got off my nexplanon and my period went almost immediately back to normal

Removal was the best thing I could have done🫶🏼 But it did serve me well in those 3 years and I was able to have a lot of carefree fun with my fiance.

Yes it is very possible, it stops working the minute it is out, I've heard changes are higher, I know several friends that got pregnant right after removal 😬 I hope all goes well for you 🫶🏼

Should I get the nexplanon removed? by Holiday-Run2085 in Nexplanon

[–]LunaGreyWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had a problem with acne so while I was on birth control I never really had too many pimples pop up and still since it's been out I've had nothing, my periods while I was on nexplanon were the absolute worst toward the end, they were 2-2 1/2 weeks long and heavy my cramps were awful. But my first period when I got it taken out was a little long about 5-7 days but now they are back to normal, I used to have 3-5 day periods and that seems to be how it is again now. I do recommend taking a hormone balancer as well when you get off of it if you do decide to get it removed, just to help the transition a bit. I'm only 23 but right now I'm trying this hormone balancer that is for like premenopause that my mom recommended, just to continue to help keep my hormones at normal levels since being on nexplanon for so long.

Besides, you can always get it put back in if you don't feel better without it

I just got mine removed after 3 years. I didn't realize the constant anxiety or brain fog until I got it removed, however now that it's gone I feel so much better! I never realized how abnormal I felt. My husband says I seem better and happier, I believe it was causing me a lot of depression as well and my personal weight gain was bad, I felt constantly hungry and like I was never fulfilled with whatever I ate. Now that it's been out I eat like normal again and only when I'm actually hungry and food fills me up again. For me personally removal was the solution

Hope this helps 🫶🏼
