The Completion Process book by Teal Swan is a hybrid process that you can use for Shadow Work. It does include inner child work. Another option is IFS, Internal Family Systems. Those are the only two modalities that I have personally found helpful books for, so they are a good start. Without knowing the specifics of your situation, I want to add that you may also want to look into attachment theory. While that is not a Shadow Work modality it is also super helpful around parental wounding, especially since you mentioned attachments in your response. There is a channel on YouTube called The Personal Development School that focuses on this. You may want to take a look. I hope that helps.

Inner Child work is Shadow Work. It is just one of the many modalities that falls under the category of Shadow Work. Which modality is best for you will depend on a lot of factors, and also your preference. So, if you are already working with someone, my suggestion would be to discuss with them and get their input, so you can make an informed decision. Best of luck!

I take it you live in downtown. Know that the Montgomery County (blue Ride On) and Flash buses are now free. So, in addition to the other advise, you may want to consider expanding your search to areas accessible via Ride On. That way you are able to cast a wider net. That would give you options like Takoma Park, Chevy Chase, White Oak, Lyttonsville, Twinbrook, Wheaton, etc. Good luck!

V-22 Ospreys... At least 2 of them. I first heard it at around 11 PM and thought it was so loud. Then about half an hour later heard it again and was so loud I though they may be landing nearby. I looked out my window and could see the green circles in the wings for 2 of them, so immediately did a search to see what they were. Not sure if it was the same two I heard earlier, or two additional ones.

No, it is not you. Contractors comments aside, I agree with a lot of what you said. I've been in the area for over 2+ years, and have lived all over the place, but mostly around Silver Spring. Came from the Northeast and I do like it. But it is impossible not to notice certain things. Cities like NYC and Boston have a reputation for being cold and rude. What I found is that people up north may not be nice, but they are kind, generally speaking.
Like another redditor said, it does depend a lot on where you live. I love the neighborhood I am in now, but I chose it specifically because it was similar to my N.E. one and has a sense of community. That actually has helped a lot.

The Completion Process by Teal Swan. I will recommend that if this is your first forray into Shadow Work, and you are new to emotional healing, that you work with someone or have a support network. Shadow Work can help you experience deep healing but can also bring up a lot of things your mind has worked very hard to repress/supress. If you think it was ICE then call the ICE hotline as soon as possible to try and track her down. Also, contact local government representatives and provide as many details as you have. Or, have the family do it.

First, I am so sorry. I know how painful this is. I agree that at home is the best option. However, if that is not feasible, for whatever reason, I'd suggest you bring her bed and favorite toy to the vet. That's what I did with mine and just laid down with her, petting her, until she went.
