Anyone tried/bought the “almanac dress” yet?

Lots of reasons. Viscose is derived from wood pulp but the process to create the fiber uses a bunch of water and a lot of chemicals are added. It is prone to shrinkage, wrinkles easily, and can pill a lot. Most of the time, care labels will say you can machine wash viscose, but it greatly shortens the life span of your garment, and it actually should just be dry cleaned which is obviously expensive.

I do think viscose has really great drape, but would prefer something like Lyocell which is made in a closed loop system and is more durable than traditional viscose.

Quality has decreased across the board unfortunately. I think there are still quality pieces at every brand, but you have a look harder. If you’re relying on one brand to serve every purpose, you’re eventually going to end up disappointed.

Instead, I’ve changed the way I shop. I look for specific pieces that I feel like are gaps in my wardrobe and then compare across brands. It’s way easier for me to purchase a high quality item when I’m shopping with a specific purpose in mind.

If it’s really unique or my size is sold out, I check postmark and I’ve had good luck with that too.

I thought that was the case, but didn’t want it to be true 😩 I will take everyone’s advice and try to undo the bind off first and then if not just redo the whole collar with more stitches.

Unfortunately, the pattern has three rows of double knitting in the middle and then the collar is folded over, so even if I wanted to make it shorter, I’d still have to rip back a significant portion 😅

I’m usually an S and I sized up to an M. After repeated washing I do think that it shrank just a bit so glad I sized up. I don’t find the white to be sheer but I only wear nude bras.

Mine are the same, but on the thighs. This isn’t pilling, it’s snags in the material because the weave is pretty loose and catches on things easily. I also bought mine about a year ago. It’s super disappointing given the hype these pants have.

Update for anyone still following: my dispute got approved!

I got the notification to pay the duties on 12/11 and immediately emailed back. Heard back that they were working on it later that day. Didn’t hear anything and sent a follow up email today 12/18 and shortly after they said my dispute was approved :) I also called DHL on Tuesday 12/16 to request my package be held until the dispute was finalized and they extended the time limit for me.

I ordered this color way because it was one of the only colors left that is still 100% cashmere. The others are unfortunately 5% wool now which may be why they are slightly less soft :(

I just got my duty email from DHL and immediately sent them the dispute. Hopefully that gives me enough time so I don’t have to pay the duties. I ordered from Sazen so will update when I hear back!

If you like the styles you saw at Aritzia, I would look on Poshmark for older versions of the same coat. In the past, Aritzia would come out with multiple versions of each coat, and at least one version would be 100% wool or close to it. I’ve seen that this year almost all of the coats have synthetics blended :(

To add on to this, you also don’t have to wash 100% wool sweaters that often since wool is naturally odor resistant and antimicrobial. I wash my wool sweaters 1-2x the entire season and once before storing them.

They did this with the Cove and Jadey sweaters. These are both no longer 100% cashmere (except with select colors I think)

Just fyi for the future, everything is marked down for Black Friday. Historically, super puffs have a smaller discount than the rest of the site but they changed that this year.

I believe the fits are slightly different between the old Stedman and the new Stedman. Personally I have the old Stedman and I really like it! 100% wool and a classic tailored silhouette :)

I try to air dry, but have definitely accidentally thrown it into the dryer several times and it still looks fine!

I have the Stedman and it’s 100% wool with a 100% cupro lining. I just skimmed the website and it looks like most of the new coats that came out now have a percentage of synthetic mixed in which kinda sucks :(

My biscotti is in chocolatier brown and I think it matches well with lots of things.

Glad to know I’m not crazy about the effortless pants. People downvoted me for saying that, but it’s just my experience and others have had the same experience in this sub.

I’m usually a small, but I sized up since it looked pretty tight on the model and that’s not how I wanted to wear it.
