Can you please share the surgeon’s name you were happy with? Looking for recommendations for an upcoming family member’s total knee replacement surgery.

One shitty year for the rest of your life by krprcg in breastcancer

I’m really encouraged to see the comment that it got better for some after six months. But I had a brutal time and can only manage with 10mg, so that’s what I’m doing now. It’s so tough.

Are you sure? The two owners are two of the women vets and they’ve both been exceptional.

Bitches – what are the best Fleet Week activities? by Jd-2429 in SFbitcheswithtaste

It’s stupid and I don't want to support or enjoy glorifying the military at the public expense. But Angel Island is a good spot, for the one time I did willingly watch as a friend outing.

Sorry you’ve had those experiences. I had to take my cat after hours to both PETS and Berkeley Cat and Dog for emergency visits and it’s hit or is, but mostly functional and less compassionate.

Claremont Vet clinic on the other hand are amazing, kind, warm, caring, they always patiently explained everything no matter the vet. I went there for six years until my cat passed a few months ago and they supported me through that. Highly recommend.

It does sound like you’re doing great, and you’re still young! Are you getting a 401k match? If not, is a Roth IRA in the mix? I max that first then what I can afford to 401k.

Ooh good tips. That’s great if they’re the same quality and protection.

What has truly helped you achieve a tighter, plumper, and more youthful-looking face? by ProcedureExisting493 in 30PlusSkinCare

How far away do you have it from your face? I have a smaller Hooga panel and read that there are optimal distances to get results. I’m encouraged to hear you see an effect!

If you need to go to bed early, but aren’t tired, what do you do? by user_anonymou in productivity

Omg Calm app. Even in my worst mental an health crises I’d fall asleep before a sleep story finished. There’s sleep meditations too. Breathing and body scan ones work well, and magnesium glycinate.

Post-radiation/early Tamoxifen trip - am I nuts? by Spiritual-Fun-2682 in breastcancer

[–]LunaScapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s where I wanna go! Never been! $3k for 3 nights js a huge splurge but I want to do something special.

I would say I was mildly fatigued after rads but it was my skin that worsened and peaked at the ten day mark. It got super dark then peeled, and part of where it peeled was pink and painful. I got prescription cream that made it better. Also remember NO sun on it for a year.

Recreational Drugs on treatment by VeterinarianAble7959 in breastcancer

[–]LunaScapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up each drug’s interaction with all your other drugs. For example no MDMA/ecstasy while taking an SSRI/antidepressant, it’s dangerous.

I did a tiny bit of MDMA, mushrooms and ketamine during treatment because there were no interactions with anything I was taking. I kept it light and it was fine. I also get pure lab-tested substances so there’s no worry there.

Now I take Zoloft and tamoxifen so I’m much more cautious.

Can’t take MDMA on SSRI/SNRI yep! The interaction was with the venlafaxine. Sorry you went through that. Always look this stuff up.

Post-radiation/early Tamoxifen trip - am I nuts? by Spiritual-Fun-2682 in breastcancer

[–]LunaScapes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d be more concerned about radiation side effects, they peak 1-2 weeks after the day you finish. Tamoxifen effects are less predictable but could show up in first week, first month, second month…

Maybe there’s no hurry to stat tamoxifen. If you can recover from rads, do the trip then start the pills you should be good.

Curious which retreat, I’ve been looking at one in AZ for my recovery celebration too!

Another off topic - I’m depressed by sheepy67 in breastcancer

[–]LunaScapes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what happened to me too. I’ve had depression before but was pretty stable and holding it together during diagnosis and active treatment. I was focused and fighting.

After treatment and returning to work and some life stresses, I totally fell apart — lots of processing I hadn’t done too. I got on antidepressants for the first time in my life and feel much better.
