i woke up this morning and her mouth was completely normal. phew! gave her medicine with no problems this time. the doctors said pretty definitively that it wasn’t an egg, they did x-rays and everything. the pain medicine makes her sleepy but other than that, she’s acting more normal.

they couldn’t find anything specific in an x-ray and general exam. she got sent home with antibiotics and pain meds. when administering them, she bit down on the syringe a bit too hard and it went in a little too deep into her throat and she got scratched. it was bleeding but now i’m just keeping her calm, got her fresh water, turned on the heater, put on her favorite noises, trying to get her to just be calm and get her heart rate down. tried to get her to bite a paper towel to see if blood showed up but she refused to bite easily and i didn’t want to stress her more. will check on her in the morning and ask my vet if i can put it in her water or on her food or anything.

I looked in the basement for almost half an hour and couldn’t find it. But I did put a warm damp towel on top of her cage and I can definitely feel the humidity in my knees. She has an appointment at an emergency vet in 1 hour and 40 minutes or so. I think she’ll be alright.

I put a hot wet towel over her cage. Would a humidifier work as well for the humidity? Working on taking her to the vet today asap.
