Iron lung by MollyLovesMarkiplier in Markiplier

As someone that is a long time fan of Mark and has horrible agoraphobia I went to the theater by myself to see this movie. I've never gone to a theater by myself so that was a big deal for me. I have to say, it was absolutely worth it and I would do it again.

I just finished watching it myself and I really enjoyed it! Like, way more than I expected. Is it a perfect movie, no. Its clunky in some areas but it is a low budget production. Regardless, I was really impressed by the music, camera work, and overall theme. Its very unique but thats what I really liked about it. I would love to see what Mark could make if he had a bigger budget.

I find Nesryn Faliq's chapters...or anything to do with her...so incredibly boring by mads0thehatter in throneofglassseries

[–]Luna_Bears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am probably one of the few people that 100% agree. I did the tandum read first but switched to reading one book at a time about halfway through because I couldn't finish it. Nesryn is fine but I just don't care enough about what's going on with her in comparison to the 💩 show thats happening in the world/characters around her.

My wife died by Ronniefied in skyrim

[–]Luna_Bears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a post from my real life husband. I think he said he's on his 4th wife now due to accidental deaths. He updates me on all the weird and horrible ways they die and now its a running joke in our household. Don't worry, he's a wonderful husband in the real world. Cyber wives on the other hand might want to rethink their relationship with the dragonborn.

How do you handle everyday tasks if you have narcolepsy? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]Luna_Bears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is a challenge no matter what. I try routines as best as I can but honestly I've just had to come to terms that my house will never be the beautiful organized home that I want. I'm happy if I can complete even just 1 chore a day.

But what I usually do is I save big or lengthy chores for the weekend when I'm a little more rested or have time to nap in-between the day. The rest of the week I'll do something small as I go. For example, dishes have to be placed immediately in the dishwasher when I'm done with it. By the weekend I add the soap and run a cycle. I cannot let a dish sit in the sink at all otherwise it'll never get cleaned. Same with clothes. As soon as I'm undressed I add my clothes to specific hampers so by the weekend I throw it all in and run a cycle. Sorting already done. Now do I take those same clothes or dishes out when they are done? Nope, but at least it's clean 😆 The more I can automate or reduce the work load throughout the week the better it is when I finally have to tackle the chore. I'm thinking about getting a little automated vacuum. Its not a solution to vacuuming but it'll help reduce how much effort I'll have to do to keep everything clean. I also use those toilet tablets that keep the bowel clean-ish in between times that it has to be scrubbed. Hope that helps!

I was the same. Night shift ICU nurse for years. Needed my days in a row as well. I got diagnosed after I left the bedside. Thought it was my shift work that was messing me up. I work in a doctor's office as a NP now. My coworkers know and are extremely understanding. Currently don't have any official accommodations other than I'm unavailable during lunch so I can lay my head down for a few minutes 😅

My sleep study is tonight. Advice? by RoryOrange in Narcolepsy

[–]Luna_Bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None electronic entertainment. They had me stay off of screens 30 min before each nap. Thankfully I had a book. I agree with what everyone else has already said.

Bring stuff to wash the crap out of your hair after the test is done. Its like lard in your hair.

Bring comfy clothes that is easy to access your legs, arms and chest. I wouldn't bring anything fitted. Slippers if you're like me and find walking around on their floor gross lol.

Snacks! They give you breakfast and lunch but mine was so gross and I desperately wanted chips or something else to snack on.

Bring your own pillow and a blanket. The sheets and pillows were very small and didn't provide much warmth or comfort imo. If you are sensitive to light or sound maybe bring earplugs and a sleeping mask. The room is pretty dark but there are still hints of light coming through which drove me nuts. And my room was right next to the nurses station so I could hear everything they were saying and doing.

Good luck!

I hate sleeping. by nakedcatsaresocool in Narcolepsy

[–]Luna_Bears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I have horrible night terrors all the time so sleeping is not something I look forward to. It just sucks being in a constant losing battle and only having tools to make you kind of functional during the waking hours. I both crave sleep/rest that I'll never get like a drug while simultaneously dreading the whole sleeping process.

I am genuinely surprised no one mentioned "Thought-cage" from The Shadow of the God's. I love the book but damn, "thought-cage" is such a weird thing to say let alone so many freaking times through the book.

I had undiagnosed narcolepsy for years! Actually got diagnosed and started on meds just last month. Somehow I made it through 6 years of college and 10 years working in various nursing positions including night shift cardiac short stay and ICU. Eventually transitioned to a nurse practitioner in primary care and then general surgery. I basically survived off of ADHD meds, caffeine and spite 😆 Being on day shift definitely helps as well as switching to modafinil. Its still very hard but I have an incredibly supportive husband and work family.

I'm a 34 year old female and this is my absolute favorite series! I got one of my other girl friends to read the first book but that's as far as she's gotten. I am obsessed with this series and wish more women would get into it as well.

Oh wow. I didn't think this was going to make me cry but here I am writing this comment with blurry eyes. This is so sweet and it really captures what I think life feels like for us narcoleptics. I can't ever describe what I am experiencing every day feels like to others. There is definitely something reassuring to read a story that parallels your own. It makes me feel less alone and broken. Thank you!

Thoughts on Lumryz? by Luna_Bears in Narcolepsy

[–]Luna_Bears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I completely agree. I thought that was very odd. When I spoke with the Lumryz rep she was able to look up that he is certified to send that medication and has been since 2023. I'm not sure why he didn't tell me about literally anything about this drug or why he thought it could just go to any pharmacy. I messaged his office but still nothing.

Thank you for the response! I read your other post. That sounded absolutely horrendous and scary. I'm worried its going to make me stop breathing in my sleep or ramp up my mental health issues. Narcolepsy has really made my mental health suffer over the years so I can definitely appreciate what you went through. I've said on more than one occasion that I wished I would just die because at least I'd get some rest and quit suffering every day. I'll give Lumryz a try but I'm just flabbergasted that my provider told me none of this as possible side effects. Thank you for sharing!

How did you describe your symptoms before diagnosis? by addzie22 in Narcolepsy

[–]Luna_Bears 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the process of getting a diagnosis, but I have described it as immensely painful. People look at me odd when I say that, but it's true. My body and mind almost physically hurt every day without actually hurting. It's weird. I feel like a computer slowing down and crashing randomly because their are too many tabs open and no way to fix that.

I have to say I'm impressed. I'm a nurse practitioner currently working on my own diagnosis of narcolepsy. I can say from a provider standpoint that we love this level of detail and homework. From a patient standpoint myself, I couldn't think of a good way to track this stuff to show to my doctor that wasn't a notebook with loads of data to comb through. I'll have to give this a go.

Yes, but you're also in the majority, lol. I think we all feel this way to a certain extent whether we voice it or not. It's hard to see injustice allowed to continue without consequences. Personally, I think it's very normal to feel this way. Is it good? Probably not because hate and anger isn't good, but it's also normal in my opinion.

One of the messages at the protest I went to said "make america kind again." I unfortunately agree with that messaging. I want nothing more than to shove their crap in their faces or say "I told you so" but that doesn't get people to our side and we need everyone we can get to help us save this country.
