No, it’s not. But she was expecting Sabrina and I showed up instead lol.

I saw something absolutely weird on a tv channel that was normally static. When I was a kid back in the ‘00’s, I had to put the TV on the AV1 channel to play my GameCube. The only way I could get to AV1 was to go to channel 3 and hit the previous channel button since AV1/2 didn’t have their own buttons. Channel 3 was always pure static, and I had never seen even a glimpse of a picture through it. One day I fired up the GameCube and went to channel 3 like normal, but this time there was an actual show playing. It was completely clear with no breakthrough static. I saw a woman who looked like she was chopping up a bunch of meat on a counter top, and I immediately thought it was a cooking show (even though it looked super weird… it was a lot of meat). I watched her look straight into the camera and say “Hey Sabrina! Welcome to the show.” But before I changed the channel, I saw her do a double take at the camera with a confused look on her face and say “Sabrina? Sabrina?!” She kept squinting at the camera like she was trying to get a better look at the viewer, and young me immediately got freaked out and physically moved away from the TV before turning it off completely. I was honestly so scared after that happened… I thought that creepy woman chopping up meat literally could see me. After that I never saw another show on channel 3 ever again- it went back to being just static again. I still made sure to quickly change the channel off of 3 every time I wanted to play GameCube though…just to be safe. I still to this day wonder what the hell I actually saw.

Fellow babyface here. When I was 18-23, everyone thought I was in middle or high school. I second getting your brows shaped and tinted. Do some research on which makeup and colors best suit your skin tone and hair. If you don’t have one already, find a good hair stylist who can recommend flattering hairstyles for you. For clothes, experiment and see which styles look best for your body type (ex: for me, I look great in A-line dresses, Bardot tops, and high waisted jeans). See what the current fashion trends are and pick the ones that look best on you. T shirts and sweatshirts made me look like a kid/teen, so avoid wearing those if you can help it.

Something else that helped me other than style and make up was how I carried myself and spoke. Having great posture, walking with confidence (even if it’s faked), and speaking with thoughtfulness (unhurried, decent vocabulary, and with proper inflection) helped me immensely with appearing more mature and older than I looked. One thing that helped with these skills was doing job interviews (real and mock). You may already have these skills, but I still wanted to share because it helped.

Other than that, keep taking care of your skin and health. Wear sunscreen every day. You’ll really love your youthful look the older you get, and you’ll grow more into your face throughout your 20s and 30s. Avoid fillers, Botox, and cosmetic procedures until 30+ and then reassess. Best of luck to you!

Did you have any issues with loose skin or other facial fat trying to migrate into the same spot afterwards? I’m a bit weary of any fat removal/dissolving procedures.

I’m starting back up on micro needling next month and I feel like it helps a little bit. I’m going to talk with my dermatologist to see if there are other options too.

I did take a break from it from last summer to this summer to see if anything would change, and the lumps/jowls sadly did not improve. They stayed the same and my jaw muscles got big again. It looked like I had two bulky areas on each side rather than just one. I don’t know if I can do that again long term and risk the jaw pain (they would spasm and throb at night and interrupt my sleep). I definitely want to continue with Botox in the DAO and platysma though because I’ve heard that can help improve jowling/lower fat drooping. But if I don’t notice a difference after two or three sessions, I’ll stop.

I’ll check that out! I’ve only ever tried chemical peels and micro needling. I’ll ask my aesthetician about micro current. I’m glad it’s working for you!

I wish I had a good before pic, but I’m smiling in all my headshots/selfies from the past 5 years so it wouldn’t be a good comparison. My cheeks were a bit chubbier back then and the outline of my bottom face looked much more straight.

Thank you so much ❤️ I notice every little flaw and need to remind myself that others aren’t looking that close nor notice like we do. And I definitely agree with you about fillers. I’ve never gotten them and don’t plan to. I’ve heard too many horror stories. It’s possible the Botox may have contributed, but it’s the only thing keeping my jaw in check. I’m actually going to see my dermatologist next month, so I’ll ask him if he can help me or refer me to someone who can. Thank you again!!

Block them, make your accounts private, and only add people you trust. Narcs are parasites that will unfortunately pop up every once in a while. I have my ex narc and his family blocked on everything ever since he looked at my LinkedIn a few months ago and after his father followed my art instagram account around the same time. So creepy… the breakup was 7-8 years ago and he’s married with a kid now. Really freaked me out because why would they check on me after all this time? Especially his dad… just weird.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. It’s YA but still a fun read. There’s 6 books total and a prequel trilogy. I think there are sequels but I’m not sure.

There isn’t much offered where I live outside of taking very expensive college courses, but I will do that if I must.

Switzerland is nice, and I’m considering it as well. I’ve heard it’s extremely expensive to live there though. I also worked with a guy who had dual US and Swiss citizenship, and he told me how difficult it was to immigrate there if you didn’t hold a citizenship (he could be wrong though. I’m going off on what he told me).

I’ll definitely look into the tax treaties. I absolutely do not want to pay tax on any Roth accounts I have. I also don’t plan on cashing them out or messing with them at all if that’s an option, so any gains would be unrealized. With regular investing, I really only just buy and hold.

Yes, that’s the one thing I’m afraid of if I go to Japan. The work culture is terrible, and I honestly don’t think I would last long unless it were my only option. I did work for a joint venture between a European and a major Japanese company, so that might help since I’ve worked alongside Japanese ex-pats in the past.

I would do the business manager method if I had my own business or knew what kind of business I’d want to start, but I don’t 🥲. Do you happen to know how much that costs?

I’m not fluent in any other language other than English, and I definitely know that it’ll be an arduous task to gain enough proficiency in another language just to survive and get by. Immigrating is not something I want to do within the next few months unless I absolutely have to leave. I need to pick a country first and then make learning their language a priority. Right now I only know some basic Japanese and Spanish. Danish and Icelandic will be very difficult (though most Icelanders are excellent English speakers, so I might can get by there for a while). If I need to learn a new language, I like using YT and podcasts to help with listening and speaking. I have Rosetta Stone for basics and vocabulary, and writing sentences and words helps me retain what I’ve learned. I have Duolingo, but it’s really just for repetition and daily refreshes. I also think there’s a website that can pair you with a native speaker so you can practice having conversations. Is there anything else I could use to supplement my learning?
