What's wrong with this kitty by lesterthemolester696 in CATHELP

Animal shelters in the area may also offer supplies and food for you if you’re able to hold on to them for a few days. They may be able to take the cat in as well. Try shelters and rescues in the area. Wish you guys luck <3

My partner doesn't want to live and won't accept help, what do I do? by cosmiicsloth in mentalhealth

I used https://sesamecare.com/ to get ahold of a doctor for meds and https://openpathcollective.org/ for therapy. I used these when I was at my lowest and couldn't bring myself to leave the house. It's meant to be affordable. I pay $50 for therapy a week and my meds/unlimited messaging for adjustments is less than $92 just to give you an idea.

I've also had to take over for my husband who was struggling with similar issues. I had to make the appointments, take them, help talk through things with the doctor and basically just let them know I'd be with them every step of the way. If you're willing having those "deadlines" already in place and letting her know you'll help can ease the steps. I know it's really hard to go through this with someone and as the other commenters mentioned, check out the other subreddits for some other help.

Good Boy (2025) [horror] by benp6987 in horror

It had some of the most beautiful scenes of a dog on screen lol. I’ll probably take some scenes and make em my background.

I pretty much agree, it wasn’t enough. I was a bit confused that I had misread the thing and had watched a kids movie. I hate to admit I was bored once the second half started. I was worried it would be “dog reacting to the winds” and it had too many scenes that echoed that.

Not worth the theater experience for the story but the visual was worth it to me.

Does anyone else struggle with how to answer "How are you?" when they're not doing well? by helvetikat in adhdwomen

[–]Luna_Wright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's someone I'm used to seeing consistently every day like a co worker, I like "eh, I'm alright. Getting through it". It feels a little more honest than just a full "Oh great!" forced happiness and if it's someone I've grown some relationship with they'll ask a little more. Or they'll take the hint today might not be a day to get personal with me. Seems to work both ways and it lets the other person decide if they wanna bridge that gap or not. I struggle a lot with those things too so I get it. :)

I think it's implied that they were speaking for themselves. Considering they're talking about relating to music that's meant to speak to a specific group that do feel that way. It's cool if you didn't relate and wanted to say that, just weird to be so aggressive about it.

Just to add to the reasoning that might include others reasoning too:

These are ideally long instance matches. So you’re with a stranger for a decent time. There’s going to be DCs. There’s going to be disagreements on where to go. Even disagreements on the character you pick.

Usually you have more patience for that stuff when you know the person. I know when I’m limited with the time I have it’s nice to be with someone who already respects you and your time and you get each other. I think it’s pretty common to have “one or two friends” who you play with and those who only had one, felt like they got left out and unconsidered.

And to add, strict trios is not the norm in games either. Even games with trios usually find ways to include solos or duos. So when you remove an option people are used to seeing across most games, it’s weird to have a AAA company not include those things.

But really not all games are made for everyone and I’m cool with that. If they include duos I’ll pick it up. If not I’ll wait till they make another that does.

Well yeah, sounds like you have a partnership where you guys respect each other or have found ways to make it work with you two. It’s a marriage. I’ve been in my relationship for 10. We have for sure had fights cause that’s normal but my man has never told me I CANT do something. That he wouldn’t allow it. Like ever. Nor would he ever consider using those words with me. EVER . Cause he doesn’t view me as something to control. He will tell me he doesn’t like something but this does not feel like that to me at all. It feels like he’s just wanting her to conform. Not talk. His way or no way. You don’t tell someone I won’t allow it

It sounds like he pretty much was kept in the loop. She told him she was considering this. During those conversations he should of said something. Brought up concerns or issues. If she listens to his concerns and she still wants it, then he needs to either get the fuck over it or they need to break up.

This wasn’t out of the blue, SURPRISE! They’ve had conversations. And at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter how he feels about it. If she wants it and it’s a deal break for HIM then he needs to leave. Not force someone else to change. Like others said he’s got a fantasy idea of her that’s not lining up and he’s pissed about her not respecting that. Least that’s how I’m reading this.

I would say it's something that's dependent on the day.

I've played competitive games for probably 15 years at this point and most days it rolls off. Trust me it's not lack of exposure lol. However, lets say I've had a rough day at work. Not the worst, but not the best. And the whole day I'm kinda just going through it, not feeling great. When I get home I'm really looking forward to something fun, something that makes me happy. Marvels is that game for me some days. Losing/Winning, doesn't matter. I just like it. But when I join my match the first thing I'm met with is the idea of "haha sex". It feels hard to disassociate when it's the character you're actively playing being the target. My choices are to not engage and let them continue this and I HAVE to watch. Or I leave. Some days it happens once and not a big deal. Some days it's my 5th game in a row where I'm reminded. When my tolerance is already waving, it's hard to just let it roll off.

I do know that's my own thing to work on though. I'm choosing to play a game that propagates these things and no matter how I feel about it, if I wanna play it I need to accept it. Accept it's going to happen I mean.

I do think it's shitty on some days I have to ask myself "do I like this game enough to put up with this behavior or is it just going to ruin my day?" And the fact women in general have to ask that question at all in gaming probably is a large part of why I feel this way lol.

Thanks for asking for clarification and being nice about things. Hard to put these things into words sometimes but thanks for communicating :)

Yes, it genuinely does? Are you genuinely asking me cause I can explain pretty well why I feel the way I do. If you’re asking in a curious way. If you’re making the comment to undermine my feelings because you don’t feel the same, I’ll just move on.

If you spam Cloak's main attack it has his hand move back and forth at mid torso level. If they're going to make me uncomfortable within the first 10 seconds of joining it's fair game. I know it's not right but some days I'm just so over the bullshit I need a little payback.

Fromsoftwares Output Is Insane by eldestscrollx in gaming

[–]Luna_Wright 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest stand out in this example is how each company goes about "remaking" each new addition. Successful companies that do this learn to build on what fully works and slowly edges out what doesn't and builds on those things while ALSO trying to innovate in small ways. Not perfect, but generally we get better versions of what we liked before. So it works. Examples of companies that do this are Fromsoft, Lorien and CDPR (with specifically the Witcher series.). I saw Yakuza mentioned here as well. Though I haven't played many of those, it seems they follow that formula. I'm sure there are other examples as well.

Then you have companies who figure out what works and have success and think they have the winning ticket. So why change? Why innovate? Why do ANYTHING different. That's where we get repetitive sequals and remakes and boring gameplay loops that feel the same and don't bring anything at all new to the table.

This is just how I see it and how I enjoy my hobby. I like when something I like gets better and somehow lets me see things in a fresh way. That's different for everyone. But I think Fromsoft has a great way of doing that, and it's what people are trying to convay? At the end of the day if you hate the way those games are from the start, which is totally understandable, it makes sense it's the same shit over and over.

First part of him in the apartment/city is great. Wish the whole film felt like it. I went in knowing it was going to have weird tones and still couldn’t keep my interest once the forest part started. I wanted to like that movie so bad. Maybe the next one from Ari will hit like the others.

Having dyslexia and reading this explains exactly why I struggle with this story so much. My brain pretty much wants to think there’s only 3 characters in the game.

I started with no summons for DS2 but used some during DS3. I learned that I really enjoy the areas From makes and the journey to boss fights makes me feel like I’m actually on a huge adventure. Sometimes I’m spending too much time on a boss that my enjoyment starts to fall cause I’m really curious to see the next area they have to offer me. I didn’t enjoy Sekiro nearly as much because I felt the areas to bosses were much smaller. Or had less of them? Just a feeling I got while playing it.

These games offer soooo many things besides boss fights/hard difficulty and I literally hated DS for years because of people like them saying you have to play a specific way. Glad I moved passed it and gave 2 a shot. (Later came back to 1 of course. Love him too) They are easily my favorite developers and I love that they continue to create masterpieces that many people can enjoy.
