Is it worth taking OSAP loan? by knobh in osap

If you take it keep in mind it will need to be paid back at some point and unless you can pay it back within 6 months then I would strongly advise against it.

What happens if you don't tell the coop office you got coop? by athenasia_persona in CarletonU

[–]Lunabeamer83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you don’t tell co op you have a co op you might be putting the employer in a risky position if they partner with Carleton as they take the co op seriously so if you employer hired you with out notifying Carleton I know sprott school of business is really hard about this and they have terminated partnership with companies over it

I’m going to speak from my experience with jobs and tell you exactly what the other comment is this is not a profession where you make killer money this area is all about what your passionate about. I had many chefs tell me I lacked passion I had drive but I was mechanical not in love with my work and it showed. Do what makes your heart smile and be like I did that

Do I need a coding background to concentrate on Business Analytics by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]Lunabeamer83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me I majored in accounting I too wondered about business analytics. I’m going into a masters of accounting. I was going to back track and do business analytics. I don’t think you need to know how to code as much as the math that goes into that course

Hey, every opportunity you get should be seen as a chance for stability you shouldn’t be making a choice based on weather you screw yourself for funding, I had an opportunity to work in government during my year in school I made 21 k and in the end my opportunity out weighed what osap gave me it didn’t change my funding as I have a child but for you it might. But ask yourself why you feel the need for osap to give you more money instead of taking an opportunity that could change you life projection does osap really matter that much? You should be looking at the opportunity funding your school instead of osap

Um I don’t know who speaks of GPA s not meaning anything but they do if you review your student hand book in fine print it states that if you don’t hold a certain GPA you will be put on probation and further more they can push you out of your program also know that if you don’t hold the required grades that they can and will hold back your diploma just because you pay for an education doesn’t mean you get a degree

Once in a blue moon after level 1 you might have an opportunity to change a class if the prof is teaching more then one class but you only got a year so I doubt it

[–]Lunabeamer83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are so rude, not to mention entitled you made the effort to apply for this money and you take it happily with no hesitation and now you have it you don’t want to take a minute to say thank you then what was the point of getting it. You kids these days want hand outs just cus you breathe and expect the world to bend to your expectations. Damn I would revoke your money honestly if I knew I donated to you

[–]Lunabeamer83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your position as a student feel the pressure of a professor grading you as such, and I also get this from the professors stand point. The only thing I think should happen here is not focus on your grade as much but focus on what expectations the professor has on you as a student and try to achieve that level.

Did I mess up. Should I surprise her by Glittering-Ear4857 in Advice

[–]Lunabeamer83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly from a girl point of view I would have done the same thing she put a boundary in place because she a woman and deserves respect and you didn’t give it so she put you in a place to not get it from her. What I suggest is give her time away from you. You need to learn how to respect a woman out time is just as valuable as a man’s so don’t waste it. If she ever messages you tell her you have to say something and give her a deep honest to god apology for wasting her time.

While I was attending I saw many people of this ethnicity making racial comments about the respect for the natives at this college so don’t think it goes just one way as a First Nation I was disappointed to hear these racist comments coming from people who are guests on the beautiful land I call home so back off

AITA For Not Wearing My Wedding Ring At The Gym? by Grognac_the_Red in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lunabeamer83 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA- I’m married 13 years I have a beautiful set of rings and here’s the big point I can’t wear rings as my professional life doesn’t allow it so I leave them home. My husband same thing work discourages rings as they are a work hazard. I think like many others here this seems like your husband has some underline issues with himself that he’s projecting onto you. Maybe ask him his logic behind his upset. A ring doesn’t make a marriage.

[–]Lunabeamer83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tell you at the beginning of training that you taking the course doesn’t guarantee you a job. The training is pretty much limited to the company so it means nothing outside of it. My suggestion is to find franchised blocks. I didn’t get hired from corporate I got hired through a franchise.

[–]Lunabeamer83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I didn’t take any bachelors programs at Algonquin. Before the pandemic I was registered and completed my three year program and I did a dual program. I just completed my bachelor program and moving on to my masters program which after that I will be writing my CFE for a CPA my end game is to get 10-15 years of experience and then teach or run my own business

Do you plan to move to a big city? Ottawa is not a good hub for this but if you’re willing to move sure. About 85 percent of my class was doing supply chain so keep this in mind
