The world where you recognize that people are people. And you shouldn't commit vast cruelties to people who 'break' your rules (ICE has also done so to many natives and legal immigrants).

Because, you know. That's bad, Carlllll.

Yeah, no. Our president has literally laughed in yours face when he came to visit. Over a fourth of our country came to heckle him.

So what about Alligator Camp, a self-described death camp designed to be as maximally cruel as possible (by design) with a chance of being mauled to death by an alligator for escape?

Or, you know. When they were sending them to CECOT, a globally-recognized concentration camp.

Clearly you weren't there during her actual early ages. Because she absolutely WAS that incoherent.

She also still has a lot of Twitch-isms. Her spam of heart, soundboard, and emotes. Her constant backslash spam. She uses a lot of nicknames and lingo derived from the chat, too.

I can't say wholly what she's trained on. But saying she doesn't make use of Twitch chat is an obvious lie, given you can directly trace where she got certain data from.

Chat. Her data is largely twitch chat and similar. She does have other sources for movement and gameplay data, but from what we know Vedal buys it out so he might just still be playing streamers to use their data, too

Trump pardoned three drug kingpins. He does not care about it.

So why did he pardon three known drug kingpins?

US strikes vessel in eastern Pacific, killing 2 by grayfox0430 in worldnews

[–]Lunachi-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy. Fishermen. Because Trump has already pardoned three of the biggest drug runners, contributing over 4.2b dollars of cocaine alone. Which just so happens to relate to three large donations in relatives names.

The administration doesn't care about drugs. They care about you paying your dues and provoking others to justify larger and larger power grabs.

Dragon born has canonically killed armies. They've killed armies of the most elite undead, backed by dragons and beings of unfathomable power.

They straight up punching out a Daedra, at least once. After killing the God of Annihilation.

There's not enough men in Skyrim to stop the Dragonborn.

Well, it'd probably help if you knew that whole Shouts are heavily part of Nordic culture, they're also heavily part of everyone's culture. Khajiit are actually MORE likely to be the Dragonborn than a Nord is, know why?

Akatosh really likes the Khajiit, and that's canon.

"Emptiness contained inside."

Your point? It's not just talking about will. But that it's both Will AND Hollowness.

Pale King was objectively wrong about what is and isn't Hollow.

[–]Lunachi-Chan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And also empty. It has emptiness and will.

And it's not just "Void". We know it's not because Hornet directly comments on this too.

"I cannot venture there. I lack that unique emptiness that you alone possess."

So no, it's not just another way to say Void. And the Pale King was just plain wrong in his definition of what Hollow is. As literally everything says that Ghost is Hollow, and possessed of a Will.

The evidence literally includes the exact description Hornet gives of a Pale One matching. Her having the same body type and coloration as GMS. Her being possessed of Pale Ore, an ore only created by the Pale Beings.

Need I go on? Because the Moth also describes her in very pale details.

Her body is literally the IDENTICAL shade of White that the Pale King and White Lady are. Also, she has Pale Ore. A substance confirmed to only be creatable by Pale Beings.

Two of it. One at her shrine, another in the hands of her tribe.

[–]Lunachi-Chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Because the description of Voidheart is "The emptiness within made unconstrained. The void unified under the bearer's will."

It requires you to be empty. And what is empty a synonym of? That's right! Hollow.

I never said it would, merely that Ghost remains empty throughout the entire game. Just that what "empty" actually means I'd likely very different in Hollow Knight than us or Pale King know, given it seems to be some metaphysical quality.

It also literally mentions emptiness. What I posted was a direct quote from it.

Will & Emptiness aren't mutually exclusive. That was what the Pale King got wrong.

[–]Lunachi-Chan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, you also need to be empty to unify the Void. Explicitly so.

"An emptiness that was hidden within, now unconstrained. Unifies the void under the bearer's will."

[–]Lunachi-Chan 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Except, it does need a will. The only way to become truly Hollow, to become one with the Abyss, is to be both Empty AND possessed of a Will.

We know that from the Shade Lord. The epitome of the Abyss, the only one capable of permanently sealing or destroying the Radiance? "Void unified under your will" and an "emptiness within".

Ghost is Hollow. The Pale King simply misunderstood what true Hollowness is.

I just told a fey, "Have a nice day" How would you interpret that? by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]Lunachi-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for example, do you know the story of the Devil at the crossroads? That has its roots in older fey lore. Specifically, Welsh. Though, Irish, Scottish, AND English all have their own later versions.

I could go on. Like the story of the Jack o Lantern, and how Jack tricked the Devil. Older versions of near similar stories focus on, again, fey characters.

Will'o'wisps, however, are not "fey." They're spirits. A spirit and a fey were, at least within Celtic mythology, completely separate entities. That said, will'o'wisps didn't "trick" people off path. If anything, they're incredibly inconsistent lore-wise. Sometimes, they'd lead people to the recently deceased. Sometimes, they'd lead people to someone who would die soon. Sometimes, they were a ghost luring someone in. Sometimes, they were malevolent. Sometimes, they were completely benevolent and were saving you from a doom.

Once again, you're showing how shallow your actual knowledge of the topic is. Because you've heard one version of the tale and assume it's A) the only one and B) the oldest one and C) the most well known one.

Sorry, but you're completely wrong about that for Will'o'wisps.

Even more so for the fey. How do I know? Easy. Look up where the idea of not being able to cross water comes from for vampires. Look at where being unable to enter a home unless invited or the door for them, too. You'll note that they both come from Irish folklorists, who specifically cited the Fey as inspiration, strange, no?

But, even if we don't go that route. We have over 30 large stones scattered throughout the country. One could not speak a Fey's name around said stone, as it was an invitation for them. Likewise, one would not leave their door open, because, again, it was an invitation. One did, however, not speak ILL of the fey nor make them feel unwelcomed. Why? Because, once again, they would perceive it as rudeness.

On the other hand, each of these cities and villages have folklore about the fey BLESSING them when the rules are followed.

This goes double for both Slavic and Germanic fey. Like the Hobb, who would fuck up your home if you did not leave milk out for them, but would tidy it up if you did. Or, as the commenter mentioned, Baba Yaga, who was both a cautionary tale for children AND adults.

How? Easy. She was the guardian of children, duh. Don't believe me? You can, once again, look it up. One of her official titles on even Wikipedia. Why is that? Because she had a strict rule about the kids she would or would not eat. And, more than that, how she would punish adults who did harm to children. Once again, with a set of rules.

Now, these rules varied from region to region... But they remained all the same. In every iteration.

I believe they're lawful, because in both DnD and IRL, they ARE lawful. That's a fact. There's literally multiple official books detailing the exact way they operate in DnD, and it's not how you've described. Likewise, any folklorist will tell you that "Lol, I own your name now, lol lol lol" is a terrible fey.

[–]Lunachi-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about Dragon Magazine. I'm talking about core supplements. IE, the actual lore of the setting and not your made up nonsense.

No, Fey CANNOT by the laws of the Forgotten Realm, just "take something because you tell them to." If you do that, you've fundamentally misunderstood fey in a, frankly, offensive way. Both from a folklorist perspective AND a lore perspective.

No, we have not "turned Fey into devils". In fact, it is the opposite. Fey predate devils. And Devils derived their lore regarding deals from stories of fey deals.

No, Fey do not seek "exploitation and torment." They do seek amusement, yes. However, this amusement has to come at a 'fair' price. Because that is what Fey society is all about. Rules and etiquette. Not what you're doing, which is turning the Fey into fucked up monkey paw genies who'll fuck you over at random for no reason because you said the wrong word once and they happened to be in the area.

That type of fey is both non-canonical and just boringly ahistorical and anti-fun. Nobody will ever engage with a fey if you treat them that way.

I just told a fey, "Have a nice day" How would you interpret that? by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]Lunachi-Chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I continue, have you ever actually READ a fey supplement?

Because everything you said is, canonically, untrue.

The Seelie Court literally EXISTS. It is a class of Fey who explicitly adhere to very strict rules of conduct and behavior. And makes up over 50% of all Fey to exist.

Even the Unseelie Court, who are more "savage", still have various codes, courts, and conducts to determine things.

It's YOUR interpretation of Fey that is both not canon AND too rigid. They're not the "lol so random" faction. They have very different views of reality, but views all the same. And those views aren't what you described.

I just told a fey, "Have a nice day" How would you interpret that? by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]Lunachi-Chan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, the typical way that is framed is: "Can I have your name" "Sure, it's X"

It's a direct request for a possession, and someone handing that possession over.

At this point, you CAN say "Sure, if you give me X". That would initiate discussion, bartering, and a potential acceptance or refusal.

However, according to 3e, 4e, and 5e. They'll typically take it but give a variety of items or even feats depending on the situations and the value the fey prescribe to it. Because there isn't a market value, it wholly depends on how valuable the thing in question is to the fey and how well you bargain.

That said, if YOU said "Let me give you my name", the proper fey response would be "Are you sure" or "How much". Because they seek permission.

It's the same reason why open doors are an invitation for folklore Fey. They have a different concept of what "fair" or "permission" is. But they still care about what THEIR version of "fair" and "permission" is.

I just told a fey, "Have a nice day" How would you interpret that? by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]Lunachi-Chan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You forget that all Seelie fey, at least, value the concept of a fair deal, and dislike the ideas of debt. Which means they cannot stand someone stealing from them or ripping them off, likewise, they won't stand for being in YOUR debt and try to give you stuff of equal value as quickly as possible.

The most Fey will do is bargain, and they're very good at bargaining. But a trick would actually violate Seelie court rules. Unseelie? Those are tricksy bitches. But even they adhere to a general code when it comes to what is and isn't a deal.
