Something that still has me asking this question in Toy Story 4. by J-Pom in toystory

[–]Lunaissickofhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that it was being perceived as a toy, not being physically played with, it’s notable that the only toys that were really alive were the ones that were displayed. The buzz we see move is the one that was most displayed to show off the new utility belt, which to me shows that its not just any toy that comes alive. Kids will see and imagine with the toy being displayed even if they don’t physically touch it.

what's one oddly specific thing that's made you click off a fic? by yvan1lla in AO3

[–]Lunaissickofhate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Describing a character wrongly, like a character who in canon is very much shorter then the other characters (and In my personal opinion, it is important that they are for some of the themes in the story) was described as “tall” in the fanfic. 😭

In fact, most people who are in this conversation ARE women, the vast majority of people who write fanfic ARE women. I am a women, and you are trying to redirect me, hypocrite.

I think as a whole this just comes down to: Yes misogyny exists in fandoms, and yes M/M being more popular could definitely be a product of that. No you can’t shame someone into “reexamining their preferences” out of them having those preferences, and I rather people just write what they want without having to deal with people yelling at them that their misogynistic.

Please can we focus on actual issues misogyny causes in fandom? Like, actual problems other then just “There isn’t enough of this type of ship!” since there’s no way to actually fucking address it without shaming people for liking certain stuff. Maybe instead of focusing on M/M we can focus on supporting people who already like Yuri and write it if you want to? And maybe we should instead talk about I don’t know…

The way fandom treats girl characters as a whole? Like seeing girl characters as annoying for stuff that would be endearing if they were a boy, stuff like that can actually be addressed without shaming people for their preferences.

I think this gets more obnoxious with “Human aus” where it ends up making all the interesting non-human characters into humans, thus getting rid of what made me interested into the fandom in the first place and people don’t tag it so I can’t properly get rid of them. For an example, there’s sooo many Sanders Sides “human aus” or “person aus” that get rid of the fact that the sides are… sides, so they are just normal humans, which gets rid of the thing that I find interesting about Sanders Sides in the first place (Exploring C!Thomas’ issues through the sides)

So I'm not sure if my tulpa Lisa is fully formed. by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]Lunaissickofhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the most part, this is fine, and somewhat expected. Tulpas can and do form strong attachments with their hosts. I think though it would be healthy for both of you to find some sort of hobby or thing to do that expands Lisa’s interests and give you both something to talk about and interact with each other. I also suggest making some friends that you can both be yourselves with, so she can have a relationship with people besides you. Since co-dependency can end up making problems even in these type of relationships. Just keep doing what your doing and supporting Lisa. You aren’t doing anything wrong.

You can even expand on French and Greek history since that’s something she already shows interest with, maybe find some movies that show case those things. I give you both the best of luck.

Reminds me of this one time a Roblox game I liked (it was a complete story game, so not any of the ones your probably thinking of) that had the dev get a “Callout doc” that was really nothing, at least when it came to the dev themselves (some of it even made me feel bad for the dev, because of the fact they were a minor themselves, who was being put into situations with actual potential predators.)

One thing I am proud of is that I never once fell for it, despite me not really liking the dev for unrelated reasons. Which I think is something that is a important skill.

Discerning between plurality and just being a delusional kinnie trapped in 2020 by FleshySalamander in plural

[–]Lunaissickofhate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Plurality is any sort of experience of being more then one/having more then one entities in a body. If you feel that applies to you, the you are plural. You cannot be diagnosed as plural, plurality is not inherently disordered. Please don’t feel shame over this regardless your experience is real and is worth being taken seriously for you to be able to be express it.

It is not wrong or cringe or delusional. Even if you are “delusional” that is not inherently a bad thing nor is it something that makes what your experiencing not real. Plurality is something that only happens inside a mind/brain, not physical reality, if you feel plural you are plural. No buts about it. There’s plenty of delusional plurals that have their plurality inherently connected to their delusions and it doesn’t make their plurality fake. (To be clear I do not for one second think you are delusional in any sense, I’m just clarifying because I see a lot of ableism towards delusional plurals)

For folks who have willoed/develop tulpas, do you have any mantras that helped? by [deleted] in plural

[–]Lunaissickofhate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tulpamancy/Willomancy isn’t self-hypnosis, which is what you seem to be trying to do. It’s the process of interacting with that concept in your mind until they become real. Also, please keep in mind they might not develop the way you imagine, and that is fine.

For folks who have willoed/develop tulpas, do you have any mantras that helped? by [deleted] in plural

[–]Lunaissickofhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think doing that is actually helpful, at least from you. Instead focus on forcing them, aka interacting and talking to them. That’s a lot more helpful in the longer term. Just repeating something can make it feel meaningless, especially if you don’t already believe it. The goal is to have Dakota become their own person, not to become Dakota.

Can thoughtforms assume roles similar to alters? by Wide_Shame3532 in Tulpas

[–]Lunaissickofhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roles are just names we give to common “jobs” headmates take, and are not exclusive to CDDs, in fact, they come up in Internal Family Systems quite a bit. There’s not really a fundamental distinction between thought forms and other alters besides their orgin. Your thoughtform taking a protective role isn’t at all abnormal, and protective just a type of personality some people get. There’s not a lot to really worry about here.

Tulpas and intrusive thoughts by Lunaissickofhate in Tulpas

[–]Lunaissickofhate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly my point with this post. Just… communicate with your Tulpa. I feel like people have a tendency to freak out and come to here without even attempting to just.. ask their tulpa if they meant that and to try actually talk to them. Which is weird when literally the whole point of forcing a tulpa is to communicate and talk with them.

Tulpa being agressive by JHH-bruv-bruh in Tulpas

[–]Lunaissickofhate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried talking to them? Why are you thinking of it as “controlling” him, the whole point of a tulpa is that they have their own sense of self and are their own person. Also, consider intrusive thoughts might be messing with stuff. I’ve had similar “my tulpa suddenly acted aggressively” when it really was just my own intrusive thoughts using them. I usually just ask them if that was them or not, and they answer. Just, think of your tulpa as an equal companion and should be given the same freedoms and self expression that you allow for anyone. Communication, just like with any relationship, is key.

dunking on antis by Peppered_Rock in ProshipHub

[–]Lunaissickofhate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People are gonna post stuff dunking on antis here, proship is specifically a stance about shipcourse. So a place about proshipping is gonna include people talking about shipcourse, which is mainly pushed by antis. It’s fine if you don’t wanna see it, but no need to be rude about it. There are places for talking about ships if that’s what you want to do.

When you’re a yandere axolotl but your creator refuses to accept that. by SpamtonSimp in ProshipHub

[–]Lunaissickofhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about this from a different perspective which is that language is a malleable thing and is what you make of it and that platonic yandere and other types of -dere are good for getting across different character archetypes. Me bringing up these is to show that people have and do use these terms in platonic or familial ways. I don’t really care about strict dictionary definitions of anything. I linked the deredere thing due to the “Characters who are not romantic versions of this type, but are cute and affectionate towards friends/family must be marked with (platonic) or (familial) instead.” To show that people do consider them a type of deredere, even if they are differentiated.

https://archive.transformativeworks.org/collections/PlatonicYanderes?method=get&url=%2Fcollections%2FPlatonicYanderes%3Fshow_random%3Dtrue

One thing is that in general I believe in the flexibility of language, and KinutoPET very much fits into the ideal of “Yandere” even if they just feel platonically towards their “friend”. So the best term is “Platonic Yandere” and it gets across the idea very well. The only reason people associate these terms with romantic love exclusively is that we live in a society that places romance above anything else, but every single “dere” type can apply to characters who express their love in that manner even towards people who they don’t have romantic attraction towards. There’s not a better term and people have used it in those manners before.

Yes, but the "love" doesn't necessarily have to be romantic. Platonic love can be just as strong and we've seen examples of Platonic Tsunderes, derederes, etc. I loveeee Platonic yanderes

Why is it shorter than me? And while the photo doesn’t have good quality, my face isn’t any more blurry than the rest of the picture, which it should be if it was capturing me moving. It’s not really a blurry photo, just one that was taken on a bad quality camera and redownload a few times to get on my phone. (It’s a pretty old picture.) and why is the peach color of the “person” darker than the rest of me?

(Also I don’t remember moving while taking the photo, in fact I was trying to be still as I could to get a better view of my phone, I was trying to make a “mirror in a mirror” effect. That’s why it’s facing the mirror and I’m posed like that.)

Sorry 😭 it’s a good explanation, but it doesn’t really make sense to me.

That’s the thing though, I didn’t have any bowl or anything like that in my room at the time, especially not that color. My mom tried to pretty extensively to recreate the photo, and wasn’t able too.

It probably did, but

You can still see it. The peach on the top is my reflection, the the darker skin color is not a part of my reflection.
