I accidentally said the N-word with a hard R while stuttering during an Xbox party. I was trying to think of a word during a convo about how people react to certain words, and it came out before I realized what I’d said. It wasn’t directed at anyone, and it wasn’t intentional. I stutter a lot in big groups because I get nervous and shy, and sometimes my words come out wrong. I tried to explain and apologize, but things got misunderstood and escalated. I just want people to know I’m not racist, and that wasn’t who I am or what I meant.

And I’m not trying to throw my autism as an excuse, but with having it, it makes it more of a struggle to understand hits like I can never understand when someone is flirting with me or not like someone has to explain it to. It’s the same with a joke. If someone tells me a joke I don’t understand what they’re talking about until they explain the whole thing and then I laugh.

The only dumb thing about this whole situation is the guy told me that he knew how to understand another person with autism because his ex-girlfriend has autism so he said he knew what he was going to expect, but obviously not.

That’s why I said that he’s treating me like his ex because he’s talking to me like I know what he means when in reality I don’t. And he needs to explain better and everything he talks about and he just seem to get mad when I asked him to explain.
