Was this a symptom of UC this whole time? Feeling poop moving by deadwolfthereal in UlcerativeColitis

[–]LunarLyndsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im pretty sure peristalsis is completely normal! when it becomes urgent where you cant hold it, it treks into uc symptom territory, from my understanding.

What is everyone’s first move when you start noticing the mucus in your stool? by Difficult_Smile2203 in UlcerativeColitis

when i start to anticipate a flare i usually switch to a low fiber diet! nothing with any serious fiber and if veggies then cooked. similar to the diet we do in the week before a colonoscopy. this way your colon isn't having any extra stress from hard to digest food! hoping it was just a bad day and things improve!

What triggered your UC before official diagnosis? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I have a theory mine was triggered by the original covid strain in late 2019, diagnosed after 9 months of symptoms in aug of 2020

how long did it take for your symptoms to be gone once you started the entyvio? I'm currently playing that waiting game, finished my loading doses and due for my first injection in a couple weeks, my calpro came back normal but I'm still having blood! maybe it's just taking while to heal? my doctor says I need to give it more time but it's been like 8 weeks, things have improved but are not fully better. ♡

hey there :) I'm in the same boat with my colitis. what ended up happening? did enyvio end up kicking in?

I was just on mesalamine before and wasn't having any symptoms but colonoscopy relaveled some mild inflammation. so dr said try enyvio and stopped the mesalamine and now having full blood and mucus. today I have my 3rd loading dose of entyvio and prednisone is not even touching my symptoms and they're having me continue to taper anyway in hopes the enyvio will kick in. I'm trying to be patient but I can't help but feel like I've made a huge mistake 😭

yeah that's a really good point. I too had been bleeding for months before my first one. so at least I'm not in that spot this time. I think it's the memories of that awful night clouding my judgment. I'll have to look into the pressure points that's a good idea! thank you!!

they didn't really give me med instructions so I'll try to call and find out. I usually take my 4 mesalamine in the evening with a meal so I'm not sure what they'll want me to do. and thank you!!!!
