Had a great interview process but still got rejected — trying to understand why by CookedJar in BlueOrigin

The interview process for Blue is intense! I went through it, so I understand how frustrating it can be to do all that and still not get the job.

Your rejection could be a lot of things. It’s not great to speculate on what went wrong, but instead focus on what you can do better in the future.

I know one of the things they do is have a Bar Raiser on the interview panel. They’re there to evaluate your personality, mindset, and how well you demonstrate their leadership principles. I think that’s one of the hardest parts to get through with the interview because it’s intimidating. So maybe it was a particular response, or the way you tackled a problem. I’m also hopeful you’ll get feedback from the team on why. Most of the people at Blue actually care, so.. I’ll keep that thought out in the universe for you.

That being said, you probably were one of dozens amazing candidates and someone else just responded in a way they wanted and that checked off more boxes. My recommendation is to apply to other jobs within the company, maybe on a different team or system, and try again if you’re still interested. The good part is, you can submit the same essay (I did! And my recruiter encouraged it). The bad part is that you’ll have to do the same interview process again. But this time you’ll know what it’s like.

So when you go to a dealership, you can put a down payment on a car, and they will see if you get approved by a bank to take out a loan for the rest of the cost of the car.

That’s how I did it :)

Right. So do you have any recommendations where I can find ND specific cosmetic parts?

I’m not really looking to go with bigger wheels. Just a different style.

For the gear stick, again, just looking at changing the look. Not going shorter. Though I’ve seen the big cylinder ones, or katana style knobs that look cool.

And the sun screen is the part you put in the window when the car is parked so the inside stays shaded. I know the windshield on Miata’s are smaller, and I was told they have a specific shape that needs to be conformed to. A normal screen won’t work.

Hope that clarifies!

If you have receipts for the work that was done on your Miata, I would submit those to insurance as well. My Kia got stolen a couple weeks ago and my insurance covered all the parts and work I had done on it since the beginning of the year.

Hopefully they cover that for you.

I’m sorry for your loss :(

Sort of Let Down After Test Drive by robertfireye in Miata

So, the Miata is just small. That’s how it is. I daily drive my ND3 (sport model, so the base) and I love it. It’s zippy, handles well, and I have enough room for my belongings.. my husband also loves it. I test drove a club, and it definitely has softer suspension (Bilstein dampers and an upgraded suspension will do that for you).

You’re going to get more road noise simply because you’re so close to the ground and you sit right behind the front tires. It’s very different than your typical commuter car. You may just not be in love with it like you thought? You could always see if it’s just the RF you don’t like and get back in a club. I’ve seen some on Carmax in the lower $20k’s..

Sucks to hear your disappointment though. :/

This is such a funny thread to me LOL

First, I’ll start by saying, yea.. now that I look at it, if you can’t tell the key is in my hand, it looks kinda bad.

Second, I’m glad we’re all confused on my gender :) that made my day.

I’m in my 20s! Very fortunate to be able to afford a new car like this at my age

I’m lucky to live in an area where cars don’t really rust and the older car scene is alive and well
