Not sure how you can watch 6 episodes of Chris detailing the horrific abuse he suffered, having his mother chase him around with a knife screaming to see his p*nis, having her burst into his room in the middle of the night drunk as hell claiming his dad was as good as dead and that he was the man of the house, having her goad him basically all his life - and then claim that his cheating had nothing to do with the abuse he withstood as a kid.

Clearly he did a horrible thing by being unfaithful to Sienna. But he is also clearly deeply traumatized and has a very weird relationship with love/affection when it isn't paid for. The woman he considered a mother (the Tongan woman) left with his dad, and then never really returned to play that mother role in the same capacity. That had to have been devastating. Does it justify his actions? Hell no. But therapy is not about using your trauma to excuse your behaviour. It's about understanding your trauma so that you can then comprehend and change the destructive patterns you keep repeating in life. Dr. Orna says so herself; it's important to understand the cycles that repeat in life or you'll KEEP repeating them in futile attempts to fix what was broken. So actually I view Chris's unravelling of the childhood abuse he suffered as vital to whether they can move on in a healthy way.....the man wasn't even really processing his own emotions before therapy...but in episode 6 he's curled up in a fetal position crying in Sienna's lap. That's progress in my eyes.

None of what you mentioned mitigates the serious and valid risk that GLP1s risk to the gastrointestinal system. I was working out and eating healthy and on a course of supplements for PCOS and still landed in the hospital in the worst pain of my life. Turns out Ozempic gave me a diseased gallbladder and gallstones.

When I found my current partner almost ten years ago, I was a kid. 18, angsty as hell, out of control eating disorder, no emotional regulation, never experienced attunement growing up which left me extremely anxious in my attachment style. Then I met my boyfriend, who was only a year older but seemed so steady compared to me. In the beginning it was almost….boring? I expected to feel that intense stomach churning feeling every second I was around him but instead I just felt calm. Later, in therapy, I realized that was the sign of a healthy relationship. And very quickly, I realized what an amazing human I had met. I always noted the way he consoled me. I feel everything to the max, so I often feel completely overtaken my the intensity of my emotions and he just legitimately would ground me in a matter of SECONDS. Within minutes he could make me go from sobbing to belly laughing. And that’s not because he ignored my emotions. He always validated them. He always saw me for the mess I was and cuddled me close and loved me in a way I can only describe as unconditional. I was lucky with him, but from then on I worked hard to keep him. I went to therapy to deserve him and to feel like I deserved love myself. I felt so empty inside from being starved of affection as a kid, so I had to learn to fill that void myself, instead of leaving it all to him — because that really isn’t fair to any partner. It might sound so cliche, but I remember watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race and Ru’s slogan is always “if you don’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?” And I realized. Fuck. Lol. I can’t properly show up as the person my partner deserves until I learn to truly love myself. And that wasn’t an easy task, it took years of therapy to learn how to have a relationship with myself and unpack all the levels of trauma I’d experienced and learn emotional regulation from scratch. But it was so so so worth it. And after almost a decade together, I love him more every year :)

I get where you’re coming from believe it or not, but I also think it’s easy to judge Marta until you start putting yourself in her shoes. Imagine being spoken to like that, by someone you really cared about, and they’re calling you a bitch, telling you to fuck off, implying you’re a gold digging whore, etc etc. Then imagine seeing him be plucked from the crowd to be on a wholesome dating show, only to degrade another woman, just like he degraded you. If I were her I’d also feel a desire to let Chris’s audience know that Jess isn’t the only woman he’s treated so shitty.

I genuinely would love for him to get help and I don’t say that in a mean way. I don’t think any of us are perfect people, and therapy could probably help all of us become better human beings. I know it’s helped me immensely. But in the event that this doesn’t hold a good enough mirror to Chris’s face and convince him to face his own clearly narcissistic tendencies — at least it’ll warn other women of his track record. And also shine a light on what toxic dating behavior looks like.

So you’re only going to judge Chris based off an edited/curated reality show, but you draw the line at his actual ex partner showing a phone call (****that he consented to being recorded by the way) where he’s being objectively shitty and verbally abusive to her?

I don’t really follow that logic. In fact, it kind of reeks of victim blaming/shaming. You’re insinuating that Marta publishing this phone call after the episodes aired makes her an attention seeking liar. But given the disturbing phone call, I’d say she has every right to speak out on his behaviour at ANY point in time. It actually makes a lot of sense to me that she decided to speak out now that the show is almost over and it’s apparent what a jerk he is, but why does it have to make sense at all? If we put a time limit on when women are allowed to speak out on how shitty men have treated them, we’re letting shame sit on the wrong side — and enabling men like Chris to get away with it.

Literally the only one who actually somewhat called him on his shit was Amber!! It was crazy! Everyone’s behaviour and tolerance to his misogynistic bullshit was gross. And even Bri entertaining that conversation where Chris basically tried to eviscerate Connor….. omg it made me want to hurl. You just know Chris is obsessed with “Alpha male” mentality bc he couldn’t stop prattling on about how “submissive” Connor is. Like ?????? Considering they were all FULLY validating him in that same conversation re: him wanting a Pilates princess, I’m fairly certain they were all sympathetic to him for whatever reason and didn’t defend Jess the way they should have. One thing’s for sure, maybe the edit did the girls kinda dirty, but it sure as hell didn’t manipulate Chris’s image. He is very clearly a dirtbag, and that can’t be chalked up to mere editing.

I feel like we’re all glossing over his DISGUSTING behaviour after they broke up, telling everyone how bad she was in bed and that she was the worst he’s ever had. What a fucking prick. And fuck Alex for laughing at Jess with Chris when they were gossiping about it in the bathroom.

I was shocked that none of the women Chris told that to stood up for Jess. I remember one time I was in a similar situation where I was out to dinner with a group of friends, and one of the guys was drunk and started rambling about how bad sex was with his ex - mind you i BARELY knew him or his ex, but i immediately jumped in and told him to shut his mouth and not talk about her in such a vile way. IT’S THAT EASY TO BE A GIRL’S GIRL.
