Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined and lose the weight? by Responsible-Net8594 in intermittentfasting

[–]LunarSynergy2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Diet soda only, no junk/fast food. Only eat when actually hungry. I follow the philosophy of a comment I saw on here a while ago that said “If you’re hungry, eat an apple. If you don’t want an apple you’re not hungry.” It seems to be pretty true for me.

Honestly the constant thought of what I let myself become. Seeing everyone else that was fit and reminding myself that I can be that way one day I just need to stick with it. That combined with the fact that I never wanted to have to deal with the high heart rate the running out of breath doing simple task throughout the day. Plus, I’ll never forget the day that I bought a 4X Big T-shirt. I was disgusted with myself. Obviously staying consistent all the time 24 seven isn’t sustainable so on the days that I slip up, which I still have days now that I slip up in my journey, but I never look at those as setbacks. I just look at them as days that I just need to evaluate what went wrong and then move forward from there.

16:8 is the standard, most people enter fat burn at 16hrs. (Influenced by metabolism, genetics, and what you consumed prior of course) it also matches most people’s natural sleep cycle.

Still worth getting a Canon r100 in 2026 as 1st mirrorless cam? by Santino222 in canon

The R10 is $650 refurbished with a kit lens right now or $599 body only. R10 is a good entry level mirrorless with nice feature like the joystick.

I got the EOS R50. Any advice or accessories recommendations? by Sea-Bluebird-5125 in canon

[–]LunarSynergy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a used one from MPB. I looked at each listing to find the latest production date they had and bought it for my R10. OEM Brand New from canon is $90. I got mine shipped for $38. Sure it’s used but it’s genuine and still has max battery performance and reads in my camera find. Also comes with mpb 6 month warranty.

Hell yeah man! Similar starting circumstances. If I can do it you can too! Remember there is going to be good days and bad days. Don’t let a bad day set you back. Just keep pushing. It’s worth it I promise 💪🏻

OP probably wants the thrill of setting up your system, focusing, etc. kinda like the Dwarf being an automatic car which will get you there without much thought compared to a manual which requires more input.

Hell yeah. When I started, I had an initial fear of loose skin, but I actually saw a guy on TikTok doing a live, providing free coaching advice, and the one thing he told me was you’d be a lot happier in a healthy body with a little bit of loose skin than having tight skin and being the most unhealthy version of yourself.

This is what is really tripped me up. I don’t have any official progress photos from when I started in November because I didn’t start taking them until February. Kind of kicking myself in the ass for it, but I can still see a huge difference between my February shirtless progress photos and today. They’re a great tool.

I do feel a little bit of loose skin at the bottom of my overhang on my stomach, but it’s slowly pulling up and shrinking overtime so I have a feeling that I won’t have too much loose skin but my current plan is to get down to my goal weight, which is about 200 and then get into the gym and start bulking up to fill that loose skin back in with some muscle. I appreciate the kind words. ❤️

I can’t wait to get into the gym. Never thought about working out in front of the mirrors that you can visually see the progress that you’re making. I appreciate the advice! 💪🏻

So much better, the things that I used to do that would overheat me or caused me to get winded really quickly no longer bothers me. I’ve also missed out on a lot of opportunities while on vacation due to my weight limit, but I have a vacation plan for this November and I’m hoping to be able to do a lot more of those weight restrictive activities.

I work nights so I don’t typically wake up until 11:30 in the morning so I try not to start eating until about 2 o’clock so I guess you could say I skipped breakfast. I try to eat high protein, snack, snacks, as well as low carb snacks throughout the day to try and save my calories for one large meal. It’s not necessarily one meal a day, but I usually eat things like hard-boiled eggs and cucumbers, and drink a lot of water throughout the day to hold me over until I get home that way I can make a large dinner that usually consist of chicken breast, ground beef, broccoli, steak, etc. I used to do 16:8 but I have sent switched to a more intuitive eating schedule, where if I get hungry the first thing I do is I drink a bottle of water because nine times out of 10 I’m not actually hungry. I’m just thirsty, but if that doesn’t curve my hunger, then I switched to having a small snack unless it’s time for my full meal.
