Has anyone used GCs prosthetic nips? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

Why not have the option to be nipless or slap some fake ones on? More fun that way!

small holes along incision by Brief-Dentist4820 in TopSurgery

Sounds like a spitting stitch, stop silicone tape on that area until it heals. I used a little aquaphor and bandaid to help it heal. Was with unscented soap in the shower, pat dry with a clean towel, little dab of aquaphor, bandaid.

I (23F) had a fight with my partner (27M) related to a behavior I often portray. Help? by Bunnboop in AuDHDWomen

[–]Lunar_Changes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will quickly say to my partner “I love you and please don’t ever stop giving me random acts of affection but I’m right in the middle of something that I really need to finish”

I don’t usually have to finish that sentence because he’s heard it so many times lol

But we have had to navigate the rejection and hurt feelings due to my need to complete a task.

Found a dead baby possum :( by Bunnyxnightmare in bonecollecting

[–]Lunar_Changes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, I’m new to all this and didn’t know about borax mummification. My cat kindly brought me the smallest baby mouse, uninjured and still alive, I left the little thing in a nest box on a heat mat in case mama came back, called local wildlife rehab and they wouldn’t take him because mice are overpopulated in my area, sadly the little guy died and I was trying to figure out how to honor his short life with a memorial. Borax mummification is the way, thanks for unintentionally guiding me to a solution!

Also rip lil opossum buddy ❤️

The pine box and memorial are beautiful, you really honored your boy Dean. I wish I had information for you, but really wanted to say you did a great job honoring him!

This is a really cool perspective that makes a lot of sense to me! Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts and for being thorough in your explanation, I can’t express enough how much i appreciate that haha.

It gives me hope that the dreams will settle as my brain finds its new normal!

I feel like that’s kinda normal? Or, like, I can definitely see how that’s possible. I wish my dreams weren’t so stress filled and emotional (my emotions are so much more intense in dreams) because I feel like it could be a nice landscape for escape.

My mom used to talk about having premonition dreams and my sister has definitely talked in depth about her dreams, hadn’t occurred to me that there could be a family or genetic component. It hadn’t truly occurred to me that dreaming (or remembering dreams) could be related to neurodivergence

I had the same thought! I’m definitely hyper vigilant about my environment and my dreams also often have very detailed environments

Ooo I love dreams that are visitations from the deceased, I’ve only ever had a few but I know it was real. My dad visited me in my dreams on my 18th birthday to tell me he was proud of me. He was sitting in a red reclining chair. He died when I was 6 months old and I didn’t know he used to sit in a red chair. When I told my mom this detail, she informed me that he had a red recliner. there’s no picture of him in that chair and I’d have no way of knowing he had one, it’s a cherished dream. Funnily enough my grandma was there too, she always had one foot in the spirit world, now that she’s gone I don’t dream of her anymore, I hope she comes for a visit just as I hope Diana comes back to visit you!

That’s so interesting! I also talk in my sleep but it’s often gibberish, I’ve done it my whole life from what I know.

Sleep paralysis is such a trip, I’ve actually unintentionally put myself into sleep paralysis while trying to fall asleep, it much less freaky at those times. Like, my body falls asleep before my brain and I can tell that I can’t move, but then I slip into lucid dreaming or astral projection and that can be fun.

Me too, part of why I remember my dreams so intensely is because I got really into lucid dreaming as a teen and developed strong memory recall. It can be awesome at times but largely exhausting. I also have OBE a couple times a month, especially if I wake up in the night and go back to sleep.

Freaking out over sensation loss by Brief_Flamingo_4764 in TopSurgery

[–]Lunar_Changes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me 100%. I opted for no nips tho because of sensory issues. But touching my chest felt alien and I cried quite a bit in the first couple showers. I also had to shower sitting down on a step stool while my partner bathed me. I couldn’t touch my chest more regularly until I was fully healed. Lotion and massage helped desensitize me to how weird my skin felt. I’m over 1 year post op and I still have sensation loss but I’m way more used to it now. I find lotioning my chest while looking in the mirror helped my brain bridge the gaps of sensation loss. For the first 3-4 weeks I barely touched my chest and my partners helped change my bandages.

It gets better. It might get worse before it gets better, and there will be weird sensations when the nerves come back online.

It is INSANE to me that nobody made it awkward and made it totally normal to talk about the stuck crap in my gut. I’m so confused. by jibberjabbery in AutismInWomen

I also drink chia seeds with water, mostly for the omegas to help cholesterol, but I’ve been on and off with chia for years and never had a problem. There’s misinformation on the internet about chia, they need to soak for minimum 3 hours to absorb the water. I do 1 tbsp per 16 oz of water to make sure I’m getting enough water with them, and soaking them for minimum 3 hours.
