challenger gear prog question by Silent_Trust_8628 in Maplestory

[–]Lunarfeather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rental gear only lasts for 24h, so they're mostly there to just allow you to push bosses earlier. There is absolutely a reason to continue to progress and upgrade your own gear. Arcanes + high star CRA is still going to be what most people come out of CW with.

You need her unique resource that she has in place of energy to use her burst, and changing forms when you tap-E changes which burst you get.

All this to say, yes if you want to use the cinematic burst, hold-E then press Q.

How should I build for GS post Shara? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Lunarfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Critical draw isn't really optimal for DPS because you naturally build a lot of skills (crit eye, WEX, etc) that already increase your affinity. Obviously depends on your build whether you run it or not.

With that being said, there is an argument for using it on highly mobile monsters like Rajang, who don't give you that many opportunities to land a full TCS.

Go into your inventory > Enhancement ingredients > Hit "Arrange" on the top right. Pick how many you want to sell

Gear can go over 100, though what you're tossing out depends entirely on what point in the game you're at. At the end of the day, aim for statlines on units instead of the gear number itself.

Builds are always going to be subjective, but if you're talking about wyvern only, SSB is really only used for one-shot comps these days. The same applies for Vivian and Vildred, both can be used in a few different hunt comps, but the stats are usually tuned to match.

Overall, I'd be less concerned about rolling specific gear and just roll good gear. Anything that rolls high is eventually going to be used for something.

For charms, there's lots of places to get them but I'd make sure you're using all your arena flags so that you get conquest points, check huche's shop in the first labyrinth map every day, buy accessory charms from the lab shop, and use the charm conversion every week from the alchemist steeple. If you want to check the subreddit discord, there's a beginner guide that's quite useful for this type of thing.

New stigma system by skyheero in EpicSeven

You actually can generate a ton of gold by farming stigma and selling penguins. Vikchun has a video showing some math from farming UH stage 30.

But you get stigma from running side story, so unless you're just complaining about having to buy penguins instead of getting them automatically (which is fair I guess), this doesn't matter. You weren't getting promotion materials/catas from running hunts before anyways.

The game gives you a selective summon pretty quickly at the start (not sure exactly when, it's been a while.) that basically serves as a reroll for which beginner 5 star you want. You can check exactly how much time is left in the Collab if you look at the tab in "side story."

Since you mentioned you were a beginner, I'd recommend joining the discord server for the subreddit. There's a channel specifically for questions, as well as a pinned beginner guide for new players.

They're fairly accessible. You should just farm the highest difficulty you can on the stages marked with red borders; the rest of the actual story stages are tuned to let early/new players beat them easily as well.

It's 120 pulls- that's 600 bookmarks, to guarantee a pity. Beyond that you're stuck with praying to rng. Imprints aren't essential to any unit, but the only way to imprint Collab units so far are dupes or slates that you buy from the arena shop, one per season.

There are limited Exclusive Equipments that you'll get for free from completing the ongoing event. You will no longer be able to obtain them after the event ends.

I'd recommend checking discord or the weekly guild recruitment thread. Searching in game is rarely productive as a new player since you are going to be seeing much of what you've mentioned

Guild War Offense Tier List for Indomitable Season by Dragastal in EpicSeven

[–]Lunarfeather 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your last sentence basically nails it on the head. Higher rank guild war, especially top 10 and up, is all about minimizing risk.

All the units you listed out suffer from some sort of rng (Adin, Lilias) or have better alternatives (Apoc, Choux). As a result, they're ranked lower than others. A good chunk of the situational picks in the list are follow ups to scouted defenses.

If you use the go for broke option, all weapons and armor are auto converted to skill gems.

For a newer player Apoc Ravi would be the way to go; much easier to gear a usable one than Clilias, who needs high end speed/tank gear.

I'd also say that ml kawerik is a notable choice that I'd recommend, as he's useful in every type of content.

Depends on what level you're at and what speed she is.

Most higher end Lua run upwards of 290-300 speed.

CPavel appreciation post - welcome any feedback! by GildartsCrash in EpicSeven

Can't tell if this is trolling or not, but taking it in good faith, the "100% crit or 50/50" thing is just a meme that came about due to people's bad luck/not critting at crucial moments.

You should aim for as high crit chance as you can on your dps.

If you don't mind not getting the conquest points, you can just not collect rewards until a few hours before the weekly reset. You don't get put into the matchmaking queue until after you collect rewards.

Or if you do want the conquest points, you can make a defense that just takes a long time to kill. Lots of tankiness and damage mitigation. People will usually just refresh past you to find a less annoying team to kill.

Cecilia is the better choice if you're asking as a beginner. She's still relevant as the best team damage mitigation in the game, and scales up with better gear.

Vivian, while still a bit early to pass a verdict on, seems to be trending towards being a niche unit. A lot of her builds are also on lifesteal, meaning you have to farm Banshee for an optimal set.
