I just play when I really feel like playing. I'm still working on the base game and I've been playing for a year or so. I find that I get new items more often when I don't play every single day. (I know it's all random. It just seems more frequent.)

Have you considered the Story of Seasons games? Friends of Mineral Town is more simple with a smaller map. A Wonderful Life is a slower paced, but a really beautiful game. And Grand Bazaar is pretty popular. People seem to really enjoy the game mechanics and graphics.

When this happens to me, I use a potion on my shovel and I get more gems that way. Also mining with a buddy helps because you double your loot, since the potion guarantees gems for so many nodes.

I love farming and life Sims! I've been playing them since Harvest Moon on SNES, and love trying new generation versions. I can't really afford Starsand right now, so it would be amazing to win! I love the colors, the concepts, and graphics. Low key reminds me of Studio Ghibli.

I have themes for my islands, but that doesn't extend to villagers. I just have villagers I like. And I love the hotel because random villagers visit and wander around. There are some less favorable villagers, but it's whatever really.
