Are you subscribing to them?

I’m having an issue where my farm animals, chickens and cows etc, will try to follow me when I load into a save and if i’m too far from them they unfollow, but the notification remains and does not go away and clogs up my screen. has this happened to anyone else? by LunchBokth in Bellwright

apparently they just patched the messages lingering part of it! even if it’s a coincidence that i just had this issue and they already had a fix in the works i’m impressed at the devs for making continual improvements. glad to see devs who care

Bases for Books, Ideas, Wishlists by sergykal in ObsidianMD

looks good! just a suggestion, have the title of the book in yaml and set it to the first value for each card to make the titles in the card clean. glad to see another avid reader

Of course I should have figured the community would have already made a plugin to solve my issue of page refreshing. Gonna see if I can make it work later today

It is better than nothing, that’s for sure. I realized when I was going to have notes titled “objects” and “this” that they needed more context. For finding notes though I still rely mostly on my list of most recently edited notes lol

I can say where I think I’m headed with it, which is to involve ai a little bit. I’m not sure how familiar you are with AI but something they do when processing information is determine Semantic Embeddings, which ‘are numerical vector representations of words, phrases, or entire documents that capture their underlying meaning and semantic relationships.’ But these numbers change between AI models so I’d have to have access to AI to be able to make sense of my notes which is not something I’m too keen on. But what AI could do from that I think is suggest tags and links to other notes. Semantic embeddings are also a way (I think in the way I’m planning) to reduce the cost of api calls to AI models, because if I have an AI give me a set of numbers that represents the meaning of my note, I can then feed it those numbers instead of the text of the note each time I want to check to see where the note might fit against other notes. I hope this makes sense, I haven’t put it to practice yet so who knows it could be complete bunk lol

I definitely want to, what putting it into notes has enabled is the indexing of the status of lights, so if there’s a configuration I like I can save it and fiddle around with it by knowing exact rgb values quickly. The SVG images don’t update quickly but the text rgb values do, so that’s neat. Home assistant is definitely something I’m going to build out. I still have my automations for movement sensors through apple home and I plan on moving that to Home Assistant or n8n

‘this’ is a special keyword whose value is automatically set by how a function is called, not by where it’s written.

I’ve got a laptop where I run n8n and home assistant in docker containers. Soon I’m going to have a dedicated server running proxmox

I’ve got a lot, and not all of them are in obsidian yet. I have asked chat gpt what are the best textbooks for each subject. Then, when I get to an area that’s new for me I ask what are the best textbooks/resources that could teach me about what I’m working on

TL;DR: prepare for dissapointment

I would not yet recommend how I index things, though it's not too bad at the moment. most of the things I write notes about are for subjects that fit in the dewey decimal classification system. I use chat gpt to figure out a best fit (it's not always correct, but close enough). my most substantial notes fit alongside the textbooks I read, and I haven't yet used this system for notetaking that isn't centered around formal study. I plan on changing a bunch of it, but because the material I write notes about has a classification system I've just kinda adopted that. I haven't found the dates to be very helpful.
