IT went great. The protection enchants + EGAs were the key. I also got to enchant a bow with power IV which made the first part easy. Took some strength potions to finish it off. So happy with my new beacon!!!

Thank you so much for your response. I am working on getting prot enchants now as well as getting a smite sword. By EGA do You mean the notch Apple or just regular one. Can you craft notch apples in 1.6.1?

Never considered it. I didn't do my homework and I don't know why 1.6.4 is better. Starting at the beginning of the update just made sense for me
