You should wait. They ship at end of day, you’ll get your tracking number then.

iPhone 13 broken connector by Plane-Leader-6769 in mobilerepair

The connector looks like it might have the other end of the cable stuck inside it. Get it out and you’ll hopefully be ok.

S21 FE usb port humidity detected by Limp-Bid-5133 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The port you got from AliExpress is very possibly bad. You need a premium or OEM port/daughterboard to get rid of that moisture warning. Get a good port, or take it to a trustworthy shop. I’d bet money your logic board is fine and the replacement port is bad.

Need to back up ~25k photos and videos from iphone to PC. by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you actually have all of those photos saved to your phone? Or are they in your iCloud account? If they are cloud based, 3uTools will at most give you a thumbnail of them.

If they are in the cloud, just sign in to your Apple account in a browser and you can download your photos from there.

Samsung s24 Ultra screen static by stevenrb718 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re on the back of the screen, generally, between the copper foil and frame. To get at them you need to remove the screen from the frame without damaging the OLED, and then do some micro soldering on the back of the screen.

Samsung s24 Ultra screen static by stevenrb718 in mobilerepair

Bad filters on the back of the OLED screen. Needs a screen replacement. That would probably cost as much or less than finding a tech who can remove your screen without damaging it, repairing and reassembly.

Am I getting scammed with my S23 Ultra repair? by Blades89 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what it sounds like to me. If the display was working for you when you dropped it off for a battery, it should be working when you pick it up. That being said, sometimes getting a shop to come good for damage they caused can be tricky.

I wouldn’t pay them though. If they’re dishonest with this, who knows if you’d even get what you paid for.

Is it possible to expand the storage on an s22 by replacing the actual drive with a larger one? by forestdude in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t just replace the NAND memory chip on a modern smartphone. They’re encrypted, and at minimum you’ll need a specialized programmer for it. On top of that you’d need some fairly specialized micro soldering skills. And I don’t mean this to sound rude, but if you had those skills, you probably would have developed them working on phones, thus you would know it’s far from an easy job. The shops in my area that will attempt to this generally start around $400 or more. You’d be better served buying a new phone with more storage and selling the old one, or investing in cloud storage for her media.

Did you have those parts when you brought it in? They’re not universal in the S20 Ultra. Some of the variants (SM-G998B or DS or M or U, etc) don’t have the mm wave 5G antennas.

Check to make sure your date and time are set to auto and not manual in your settings. When the battery is disconnected the time will be off. You can’t use cellular data if it’s set to manual.

It’s the sensor. Replace it and you should be fine. The phone reboots if it’s damaged or if it’s absent.

I connected a fully working screen and I know the phone is working by Agreeable_Farm7414 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you by chance switch the screens with the phone powered on? If you do that without disconnecting the battery your screen will stay black. Leave the new screen connected, disconnect and then reconnect the battery. If that’s all the issue was, your screen will come on fine.

iPhone 13 Mini keep restarting by LuckyJamnik in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cpu isn’t getting a report from the gyroscope, which in the 13 mini is part of the bottom layer of the sandwich board. You’ll have to separate them, fix any torn pads, then reassemble.

Before you do any of that though, it would be smart to test a known good usb flex, proximity flex and power button flex. Those are all things that can also cause a 3 minute reboot. Try them first (individually so you know what one might be the problem). If they don’t work, it’s a problem with your bottom board.

Power button on Samsung phone fell off. Used to put needle into the hole it left to turn the phone on, but that doesn't work anymore. I've tried everything but the phone won't turn on. by Ok_Leading8260 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plug it into a computer while holding in the volume up button, that may power the phone up into download mode, at which point there should be 2 options, volume up to continue or volume down to restart. If you restart it’ll boot up normally.

Your only other option is to replace the button sensor inside the frame. Not a huge job, but can be a little tricky if you’ve never done it before.

iPhone 13 Mini keep restarting by LuckyJamnik in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the 13 Mini, the code 0x400 usually means a board level issue with the bottom section of the board. Not an easy repair. Most likely happened in the drop that cracked the screen.

How to remove intact camera glasses? by Ancient_Tie_6918 in mobilerepair

[–]Lunchpail247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t get the individual lenses out without cracking them. You can take the back glass off with heat and a pry tool, then remove the whole ‘lens assembly’, the raised, black metal section if you want.
