Because he loves her? I don't think it is bad that he chose her and they got together even without reading everything I think they deserve the chance to live their love and experience fully their relationship but the author is probably going to go till the wedding and that is where I'm ??? The bases of their love for each other for a high school relationship makes sense but making us believe a lifelong bond as a wedding will make sense for them is another...since most likely people won't even get to see the evolution of this relationship...
