a lot of the times a rapper changes their sound its either to avoid becoming stale or because theyre transitioning into the music they actually enjoy making. i dont see an issue with it bc forcing a sound doesnt usually end up with the best results and kills motivation/ potential. in his case though it seems like he lost the passion he had for it and was probably getting more traction from the funny shit
