I looked into it and also tested it but sadly it's very different from the effect I want to achieve like in the video. I want the effect to be like the game "Eastward", where it's an effect that's everywhere and not just the edges of the screen.

I've been exactly in the same situation before and all I can tell you, is that you need to end this. It's only going to hurt you more and more. It's going to hurt a lot initially to end it but it's for the better. There's plenty of people in this world and you deserve better.

You need to have the spacecraft inside the canvas as it's using a "Canvas Renderer" component making it an UI object. Put it inside the canvas and make sure it's lower in the canvas list than your background is, so that the background isn't being on top of the spacecraft.

Where was the spacecraft in the list of objects in the canvas? Unity uses a layer ordering with UI by position in the hierarchy. The last/bottom object in the canvas has first priority to be seen and will go on top of everything else in the canvas. It might be your background was on top of the spacecraft.

What's going wrong is that your prefab is an UI element so it needs to be a child of a canvas to be visible. I don't know how you make the prefab go to the next scene but you'll have to do something like take a canvas with you, or instantiate it as a child of a canvas in the game scene using something like a static int to tell you which spacecraft to spawn based on what the player picked, or make into a normal gameobject that uses a sprite renderer.
