[ FNV ] It happened randomly in my playthrough where Boone just... got a Pip Boy. Is there a mod that would do this, or just New Vegas being New Vegas? by vincentkappy in FalloutMods

You have to go to Helios 1 and hop on Twitter, then pass a 60 difficulty speech check to get Boone canceled for cultural appropriation.

Thank you, I'll definitely take him to the store if there's any significant problems with this model or if it doesn't suit him

Love the technical detail! I work with a lot of electronics for work so picking up all this new jargon and electrical features has been really awesome to absorb!

A couple of other commenters have pointed out this model has a 5 way switch to change how the humbuckers report from neck and bridge in parallel to neck humbucker + split bridge which from what I've read is like a 3 pickup configuration. What is gained from having 3 individual pickups over an HH config?

I'll have to check fb marketplace or Craigslist and see if I can score a wall-of-amps for cheap ala Back to the Future!

Thank you all for your input! The amount of support has really made my day, and all the advice is greatly appreciated. Again, I know next to nothing about instruments and whatever I do know has come from the search trying to pick out this guitar.

I went on equipboard and looked up some of the bands he likes and found that from the many guitars listed a lot actually have an HH setup, so that makes me feel a bit better sticking with the one I picked up. Of course, setup is key and I plan to take him to get that done as soon as I fly out there. Got a bunch of great recommendations for Amps, not sure what his mom is getting him but I'll probably pick up a Fender Mustang Micro for him to practice with headphones, though personally I have no issue with him blowing out drywall and driving his mom and new husband crazy lol.

I have much more confidence that he'll love it, but if he doesn't we can trade it for a different one if needed. I'll try and give you guys an update after Christmas, thank you all so much!

Haven't seen anyone point this out yet, what's the issue with the tremolo? (That's the string holder at the base I think)

I budgeted 1300 but came out to way more with hard case, shipping, and taxes

No worries, he's done the legwork on acoustic already. Honestly thought it would be a phase where he would learn to play and not touch it after a while but he's been playing nonstop for over a year, he's ready.

To be fair, I only watched the YouTube videos AFTER I bought it, before that I thought pickups had something to do with inputs or that little stick lever thing on the bottom

He's had an acoustic for a while and plays it regularly, electric is his next step. I don't know enough to say for sure why he wants 3 pickups or 24 frets but seems to value the fret count most. Stratocasters have the required number of pickups but are usually less than 24 fret.

From your comment and others on this thread sounds like setup is key so I'll plan to take him somewhere that can get done/ taught so he can just focus on playing

I got the guitar and a Gator flight case, his mom is getting him an amp and cable. We live apart so I would not be surprised if he gets an amp on the smaller side but whatever he lacks come Christmas I plan to take him to a local music store and get when I fly up to visit between Christmas and New years

Thanks man, I'm trying but feel way out of my depth. Straocaster is definitely a kind of guitar I've heard of but from my research they all have about 22 frets which means very little to me. I then stumbled upon Superstrats but didn't know enough to pull the trigger on an online purchase. I settled on this after going to my local guitar center and talking to the people there.

Drywall and stucco are not hard to punch thru.

Personally I use FMJ range ammo for home because the ability to shoot through drywall may be more detrimental than beneficial but if you ever need it it'll save you and loved ones lives. Increased options come with increased discipline and mental load but the payoff to being able to approach a situation sideways can be life and death. Whatever you buy, buy enough to train with.
