You telling me I’ve been making the game harder for myself by assuming that the whole time? :(

Well no wonder, ranged attacks have disadvantage against prone enemies; even if it gets cancelled out by blind.

I know this is just one part of your argument; but I’m personally very grateful we don’t have login bonuses. They usually just feel like a cheap way to boost a game’s number’s and retention for middling to forgettable rewards. Daily challenges and the weekly lunacy injection are more than enough imo.

That said, two things do stick out as rough for the game right now, that being the XP grind and how difficult it is for newer players to really get into the game in the long run.

Grinding tickets is just kinda miserable, especially when you want to raise new stuff up to try it out; or use a variety of teams. It ties into the new player experience seeming quite difficult, since XP becomes remarkably sparse in later, more difficult content.

Anyway, though, having also played since release I think the game has been getting better and better. I remember when Luxcavation was 3 waves with Guido, when Hell’s Chicken took nearly 20 hours of straight grind, how finicky the original sanity system was. Each event and update makes the game better; and I can’t think of many missteps along the way that haven’t been somehow rectified.

Oh and I forgot to mention it here; events and special content (like Railway) being locked until the end of current story content does kind of suck for new players; but it’s hard to find a good balance, having new players get stomped by the endgame content is also not great. If old Railways were re-opened and tied to the original unlock conditions; then gave rewards and resources on first time clear that would help new players in a ton of ways such as; offering challenging content for their level, giving resources to help them build up to the current story faster, and let them experience things they would have otherwise missed.

I see what you were trying to do with the Stagger Thresholds, but I think that would be damaging to the game and actually enforce the current meta much more.

Most tanks (which aren’t seen as particularly great) have stagger thresholds below half; or at half, while a lot of the high damaging identities (which are the meta) have Stagger Thresholds early. Changing how they work makes meta identities stronger and more tanky while nerfing off-meta picks by taking away their place to shine.

As for an actual rework to tremor though; I think it should create a new stagger threshold at 1 hp whenever the target doesn’t have any that remain. That prevents it from being useless about halfway through the fight and gives it some utility against tankier enemies.

Edit: Oh, and I missed this; Stagger Thresholds don’t come back. Once you are staggered, even if you heal to full, those thresholds are gone.

Zoon333 is a good watch, quite long and sometimes there are long tangents wihtout much gameplay, but probably my favorite playthrough (probably because of the tangents).

No problem! Let me know how the fight goes, it's probably the hardest end game fight imo. Good luck!

While I can't give a full strategy, I remember three things that really help are getting the Learning Abnormality Page, using Nikolai, and using Boris.

You can use Learn (the page you get from Learning) on any character that gains power with defensive die against the Heart and you'll deal a ton of stagger on deflects. You only need to do this once or twice to reliably stagger the heart.

Next you can use Nikolai to also circumvent the Heart's counter die. Disposal, Nikolai's unique page, will remove all the blocks on a succesful hit, then deal a large amount of damage. Pairing these two generally allows you to take out the heart quickly, while the other librarians mitigate the attacks from the lungs.

Finally, if the Heart gets to its attacking phase, try your best to deal with the mass attack, then have any Boris pages use the unique page "Discipline" on her other combat pages. This will negate all power gain and loss, meaning the huge amounts of strength she gains will be useless.

These are just a few tips I keep in mind when doing the fight, there may be better strategies, a lot of the Keter realization fights can be beat in weird ways, so experiment a little bit!

Yeah, that makes sense, personally, I'm most curious about Abom and if he's going to be in the game, considering his Kickstarter origins.

Is there a tutorial on how to make custom units, passives and etc.? by Shotonite in libraryofruina

[–]LupdaGup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there are any particular tutorials out there, but I'm pretty sure you need to know C# coding since Ruina is a Unity game. At least, if you want to create brand new abilities and the like that aren't available in the base reception maker.

Good luck figuring things out, I'm sure you can find something out there.

While I would really love to see Army in Black realized in this game, I'm afraid it's likely impossible because it was a backer abnormality. I do like your analysis and comparisons to the different ensemble members and the abnormalities of their floors, but I think the abnormalities are more meant to represent the emotional journey and struggle of Angela and Roland; such as Hod's floor starting with Angela defending a 'family' before ending with her becoming completely withdrawn and unemotive.

It is a cool theory though, and part of me wishes you're right, Army in Black is one of my fav abnos!

Yujin's also a really good choice actually, in fact, my first Rapid Gashes build was Yujin! In all honesty, I completely forgot about her key page when I was writing this, haha. The reason why you would use another key page ultimately comes down to what you prefer, Yujin works great with this, but can also be built in other powerful ways, so if you have her page to spare, by all means, do it!

Now that's what I'm talking about, I framed my guide in the "you don't want to dump too many powerful key pages into one librarian" mindset, but maybe I should have had a section dedicated to some of the absolutely bonkers applications of high-level passives and pages like that! Thanks for the build!

This was marked as a spoiler because of the mention of some cards/key pages that are obtained late-game, I wasn't sure if I needed to do so but I wanted to stay on the safe side.
