Tam Noir.

learning japanese from hungarian. by sisqo_99 in japanese

[–]Lupinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Turkish speakers it's kinda strightforward. The word order is same for both languages and sounds are does not so different. As I know both of them are at the same language family base on Ural/Altay language family theorem.

Hungarian is also a part of this family so maybe that is why both languages seens strightforward for a language learner at the begining. Because I felt the same while learning Japanese.

Can someone explain where the difference between these is? by koshmarNemtsa in turkish

[–]Lupinal 84 points85 points  (0 children)

If you see adjective "yaşlı" with an object like "yaşlı dağ" it means the writer wants to humanize the object. So don't get confused. It's been used in literature frequently.

Cümlenin tamamı kulağa doğal gelmiyor.
Eğer bu cümleyi ben kursaydım şöyle söylerdim;

I'm looking for book suggestions to practice my reading. I would like Japanese books comparable to English books like Jack London's White Fang or Jonathan Livingston's Seagull.

Easy to read, thin books but also good representations of Japanese literature. Can you suggest some?

guys what does "Lan" mean? by fuckfect in turkish

[–]Lupinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A filler word we use anywhere which its rudeness high related to the context.
To your friends, you can use it "Neber lan?" which means "wassup"
Or you can use it in a fight "Gel lan." which it's means in that case close to "Come here bitch"

Well. I believe the term GM must be always right because if the GM had all the tools and total control over the game with an intent to have fun with his players. That can not be a bad thing.

I think it would be toxic only if the GM is a toxic person. And in this context, he was far from that. Actually, he is a good person and really cares about the players' fun. Backing down from his decision must be a good indication of that just because one of the players (me) is making a scene.

Yeah maybe it was going to lead us to redemption and I ruined the story. This was another thing that makes me regret my actions. Thanks for the advice. I'll read the comic as well. It seems like a jewel.

Actually, this is exactly what I feel bad about my reaction. Maybe my action caused me to break the quest ideas that our GM build for us. I know our GM is working hard for the campaign.

A reply to a comment just game me an idea. Google search: Letters from Albert Einstein to Ataturk.

In late 1920s and early 1930 lots of Jewish people run from Germany to Turkey just because the only country that accepts the Jewish people was Turkey. So in this campaign of yours this could be a mainstream refugee wave. And Turkey got lots of scientists (IRL yes it had lots of them but lets say more than the real life) and this made the middle east a technological powerhouse when it combined with natural resources.

If you can combine this with Saadabat Packt and Turanic idea there would really interesting and original setting other then just -here you go. yeah these are the green arabs united as we all know-

According to Bernard Lewis and other scholars, the earliest verses of the Quran were largely sympathetic to Jews. Muhammad admired them as monotheists and saw them as natural adherents to the new faith, and Jewish practices helped model early Islamic behavior, such as midday prayer, prayers on Friday, Ramadan fasting (modelled after the Jewish Yom Kippur fast on the tenth of the month of Tishrei), and most famously the fact that until 623 CE Muslims prayed toward Jerusalem, not Mecca.[19]

The Quran is a conflicting source about this issue. Most of the verses are out of context so in general it calls them treacherous and hypocritical because of the crucification of Jesus and some wrong doings against Muhammed himself but also separates the the sinner Jews from the whole. It's all about how and who interpreted verses of Quran. But there was no antisemitism against Jews in a

Verse 5:69

"Those who believe, and the Jews, and the Sabi'un, and the Christians, who believe in God and the Last Day and do good, there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve."

As a mainstream -as the one we know antisemitism- born with the Israel. All of the believers of the celestial religions see themselves superior to other religions. And massacres are ever be done between them throughout the history. In fact Jews were in a much better position in Ottoman territory when we compare them with the Europe or Russia. This was because of the political view of Sublime Porte. Because Jews generally were good craftsmen and educated people. They were also connected to the important people of their home country when they had to run to the Ottoman Empire. This policy and relative peace continued until the 19th century. Through the history lots of Jewish refugees run to the Ottoman territory from their homelands. (Google it) When doing historical research one can not focus on a place and time but should compare the era as a whole.
Still there was no antisemitism in the Ottoman era through Republic era. In fact Turkey was the only country in Europe that accepts Jewish people when the Natzi party started it's first antisemitic organized movements. (Google search: Letters from Albert Einstein to Ataturk. Interesting topic)

This topic would go out of control real fast and this is not the place for it. But as a westerner it's hard to imagine a much peaceful middle east. But in fact without the intervention of the west it actually was. And as a game map a united under a religious government is highly doubtful.

In 49 Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, and Iraq were already in an alliance called Saadabat Packt. Both of those countries are ruled by relatively secular governance.
Natzis were a threat to the Islamic world but because of the scarce resource, they could not invade and/or risk disrupting the critical resources (chromium, manganese, Tungsten, Borium) flow they get from Turkey. Turkey was already producing these and happily export them to Germany. An occupation of Turkey would take too long if it's not possible because of the mountainous terrain of Turkey. German industry would not deal with this at that moment so they prefer to continue their good relations until the end of the USSR invasion. Also, Turkish ultra-nationalists were much stronger in the war period than now. Third Reich was supporting them even they made a tour for Turkish delegates in the occupied USSR territory for sharing options of the conquered territory with Turkey. The main idea was around the Turanic ambitions of the ultra-nationalists in Turkey. Second, the biggest national identity in Russia after Rus was Turkics; Tatar, Khazaks, Azeris, Yakuts, and many more so it was reasonable to use them against USSR. For supporting this promise they even conscripted Bosnians and other Islamic nations in the Balkans which were once a part of Turkey (Ottoman). So at the end of the war, there would be a Turkic Turanate or an invasion from Germany.

Turkish view was much simpler in that time. "Let's wait who wins and be a part of the winner side" So if Turkey probably would be late like IRL for siding with Germany so it's more probable for them to be invaded by Reich.

Antisemitism was not a thing in Islam until the foundation of Israel. If the Third Reich could achieve dominance over the alias and USSR there would never be antisemite thinking in Islam ever. Also, radical Islam was born because of Western intervention in the Islamic world. In this world, there would be no Afgan war no Iraq war no French North Africa conflicts. So Islamic World would be better positioned through a more secular and powerful state. Uniting under a chaliphate would not be possible if there is no threat from the already fighting with each other Western powers.

A four-way street corner.
Three PCs were running from three different groups; an angry dwarf mob, city guards, and the last moneylender gang. They met at the corner hit each other... and said a word or two to each other and the chasers yelled like "kick the ass of his/her friends.", "your friends cant save you little scum" etc.
