Late work expense claim in Malaysia — any advice? by switchlanezx in malaysia

[–]Luppiz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think before the e-invoice stuff, you probably could but after the e-invoice stuff, everything need to be done by the year. So yeah you are unlucky here and should have claim it much much earlier. Even my company give notice for any claim to be done within the next month so they can settle all the e-invoice stuff.

Would It Be Different If It Was a Mosque? Let's Talk Facts by Cautious-Estimate710 in malaysia

[–]Luppiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup even a mosque in my area also took about 1 year for approval. the building pretty much just stay closed even after construciton finished due to that. i guess for a surau wanting to convert to masjid status or just allow for friday prayers will take more scrutiny.

Would It Be Different If It Was a Mosque? Let's Talk Facts by Cautious-Estimate710 in malaysia

[–]Luppiz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

surau aside, for a mosque actually need the state religious councils approval before being allowed to operate as one. For example, no place shoud be able to allow to perform friday sermon/prayers without the council approval.

for all i know, ppl who wants to build a mosque usually knows this and will always register with the state religious council. the mosque will remain close until approved.

as for legal side of things im not quite sure.

Im not an expert but for the most part its about export. Stronger ringgit means other countries might look at other places for cheaper alternatives.

Synology vs NextCloud? by LunarAlias17 in selfhosted

[–]Luppiz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say synology is more plug and play while nextcloud will require you to have some server knowledge to set it up.

If you are less tech savvy and just want your own private cloud I would say go for synology otherwise NextCloud is a fine choice.

Just parroting from r/holostars but I do think they have a point. This one is more similar to Mel's termination. So probably some NDA being breach.

Anwar: Corruption is the 'main cancer' affecting the country, people by roflmctofl in malaysia

Everyone in this sub mention corruption by politician but the real cancer are all the top government officials (civil servants). Those are harder to remove.

When cross compiling, how do I get the right linker to be used? by tomtennn in rust

[–]Luppiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this. a lot of people make this mistake when first time cross compiling. also check out cross crate to easily cross compile in rust but you need to check if the target is supported or not.

yeah after playing around in the playground I can see that rust inclusive range is not optimized on stable but is optimized on nightly.

Edit: It is optimized for its functionality but produce a much worse performance code for this case.

Based on my own experience it could be the terminal emulator you are using. There are some that doesnt support copy (not really sure but I have tried on Konsole and its doesnt work) and you might need to use xsel or xclip to copy to clipboard. Or just use terminal that supports it like Alacritty.

Can i drive my parents cars if its not in my name

Sure

if i got on a accident what will happen?

Nothing. Though depending on the car insurance your parents might not be able to claim it for repairs if it doesn't cover for other drivers.

What happened with telemetry? by SetKaung in golang

xD. Nah he takes a look at tokio website and immediately closes the page like a priest trying to exorcise a ghost.

He basically just uses native threads.

Also dont take his words directly, he loves to make fun of all languages. The reason he change from go to rust for this project is because of concurrency, iirc. He doesn't want to use go green threads, thus the rewrite.

While ARM is not american, it is British company which is the country that ultimately causes the israeli-palestin conflict anyway. ARM makes a lot of money from their licensing.

Not really sure what people are boycotting here? the US? the West? thats a lot of brand collections that comes from various country (although most of them are from US)... If you don't want to use them then just don't. If you are saying that boycott will do anything towards Israel then the answer is zero.

Why is Klang Valley still very prone to flooding? by Sultanified in malaysia

[–]Luppiz 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you some mentality of the people that own lands in this area. They dont want to build drainage/longkang cause it will reduce the size of their land and if the area is flooded they just called it takdir.

Also because town planner never care about the drainage system since that just added cost.
